The paragons' movements had frozen. Many of their gazes were wide open, as though their minds struggled to grasp the gravity of what they had just heard.
It was absurd. It was so absurd. They were paragons. Not just paragons, but beings who had risen in both power and authority high enough to lead their respective races.
The lead rulers of the Alliance. Their every word. Their every order was law in Eldoralth.
They could condemn entire cities. They could erase civilizations from the face of this earth. They weren't kings. They were the emperors and empresses of Eldoralth.
It was so absurd on many levels that it should only be taken as a joke. And yet, not a single one of them was smiling.
