"Sorry, Manager Joan."
"Please come in!" answered the manager Joan.
Carver turned to the man who had walked into Joan's manager's room. A slender woman in tight clothing that exposed her curves.
The woman stepped closer to Joan's manager, but her face was fixed on Carver, smiling charmingly.
"Manager Joan, today is your meeting day. Let's go to the meeting room, the client will be coming to this company soon."
"A meeting? Seriously, isn't Mr. Edward going to a meeting today, but why me?" asked Joan's manager.
"Mr. Edward had other agendas, so I was ordered by him to ask you to replace today's meeting," the woman replied.
In his seat, Carver looked away as the woman who had been talking to Joan's manager kept looking at him with a knowing smile.
"Are you Sir Edward Fletcher's son-in-law?"
Carver was almost taken aback when the question suddenly hurled from the hot woman. The woman's eyebrows rose as a sign of asking something that needed to be answered immediately.
"Y-yes, ma'am," Carver replied.
"You are very handsome. From a street vendor in the company area of the Fletcher Company, now to...." The woman said without thinking first.
"Stop saying that! Hurry up and get back to work, because I'll be going to the meeting room soon," Joan's manager interrupted.
Carver wants to leave the room, having overheard a woman who will tell him that he is just a lucky man from a poor background who is made the son-in-law of the owner of the Fletcher Company.
Carver thought the woman was nice based on the smile on her face, but she said something that made Carver feel like condescending.
Luckily, Joan's manager swiftly and understandingly stopped the woman's words.
The woman then folded her arms in front of her completely empty chest, similar to her slender body without any content.
"Don't forget, Manager Joan, you must hurry to the meeting room right now!" The woman stepped out and slowly closed the door.
"Yes, yes I heard that," answered Joan's manager, smoothing the tie hanging below his neck.
Time shows 09.25. The meeting will start at 09.30.
"Gosh, I have to hurry to the meeting room." Joan's manager got up from her chair and picked up the file on her desk.
Seeing Joan's manager about to leave his room, Carver got up and closed the file he was going to study.
"Young Master Carver, stay right there! I'll be back in two hours," said Joan's manager.
2 hours? It's long!
"I'll just go back to Mr. Edward's room. But what about this file I'm studying?" Carver pointed to the files on the front circle table.
"Bring it on! But Mr. Edward just sent a message that he's going to... my God, the meeting starts in two minutes." Joan's manager looked at the watch on her wrist, then quickly packed up the files and laptop she was going to take with her.
Manager Joan stepped out of the room. "Stay right there, Young Master Carver."
CEKLEEKKK!!!
The door closed, and only Carver was in the room.
Inside her cell phone, there were traces of incoming calls from Edward.
"Mr. Edward called me four minutes ago?" muttered Carver.
Carver immediately brought the file he was going to study. Leaving Joan's manager's room, without a direction whether to return to the director's room or leave the company.
As he stepped through several rooms, employees were seen passing by without stopping to stare at him.
At an accelerated pace, Carver tried not to pay too much attention to his in-laws' company employees. The only thing was that if he saw people whispering with his comrades, it would make him fall mentally.
Arriving at the employee gathering place, the employees glanced at Carver while discussing something with other employees who were nearby.
"I really regret that the CEO's daughter got a street vendor husband like him," said one female employee.
"But I myself am also confused about what was in Mr. Edward's mind to match up his only daughter with a poor man we know as a street vendor."
"That's called a poor man ascending the throne," snapped an employee who was carrying something in both hands.
Carver walked down the stairs and tried to forget the employees who booed him.
When Edward is around, neither employee talks about Carver's background. But when Carver is not with the owner of the Fletcher Company, employees can't help but discuss Carver's background with hurtful derision.
Just as he was about to pull out the two-door glass door, his cell phone suddenly rang.
Carver stared at the phone screen. "Who called me? Oh, it's Mr. Edward."
Edward: Carver, I'm sorry. I had to leave you at the company because I suddenly had something important to do."
Carver : That's all right, Mr. Edward. I can go home myself."
Edward : How, did Manager Joan give you anything?"
Carvers: Yes. Joan's manager gave me a file that I will study at home later.
Edward: Good. You go home alone using Manager Joan's car. In the company there is more than one car that you can take home.
Carver glanced at the neat rows of cars in the parking lot. I don't know which car belonged to Joan's manager, but what is clear is that he will go home without bringing anyone's car.
Tutt! Tutt! Tutt!
The phone is suddenly turned off.
"Young Master Carver."
From behind, someone called while giving the car keys.
"Joan's manager lent me her car. Joan's manager's car is there." The man pointed to a luxury car owned by Joan's manager.
"No need, sir. Just return the car keys to Manager Joan," Carver replied.
"But this is Manager Joan's order. I could lose my job if..." said the man.
Carver didn't care, he stepped through the door he had opened. Several calls from a man who wanted to give the car keys from Joan's manager, Carver completely ignored.
"I can go home alone without using anyone's car."
"All the employees seem to look down on me because of my background as a street vendor. What's up? I'm a pauper who ascended the throne," Carver said, looking back at his in-laws' company name plastered on the wall above.
Fletcher Company!
A few steps down the road, a blue sedan marked 'TAXI' stopped at the side of the road without a single passenger.
"Sir, can you accompany me?" Carver stopped the car.
The taxi driver sitting in the driver's seat looked at Carver from head to toe.
"Of course you can," answered the taxi driver as he opened the door, then opened the back door of his car.
Carver got into the back seat, shortly the driver got into the driver's seat and started the engine. Moments later, Carver had arrived in front of the Fletcher residence.
Carver steps slowly through the wide open main door of the house. At that time the Fletchers' house was very quiet, only Bobby seemed to have just returned from dropping Sophie off this morning.
"Mr.Bobby, where's Violeth?" Carver asked Bobby.
Carver worries that Violeth is still doing her old habits with men out there. If Violeth was still hanging out with the boys, Edward would definitely blame Carver.
Bobby went straight to Carver and said in a doubtful tone. "Miss Violeth, gone since this morning. I don't know where she went."
