Chapter 51 - END OF A TROUBLED NIGHT

[Rooftop]

Deadshot fired his wrist-mounted guns at the shadowy figure who had emerged before him. Bullets tore through the air, but before they could reach their target, the figure moved with supernatural speed and agility. With a flick of his hand, he conjured a swirling barrier of mystical energy that absorbed the bullets harmlessly.

The figure stepped into the dim light, revealing himself to be Etrigan the Demon, a creature of immense power with a fiendish appearance. His eyes burned with hellfire as he regarded Deadshot with a wicked grin.

"Your bullets won't harm me, mortal," Etrigan taunted, his voice dripping with malevolence. "I am Etrigan, the Demon. Now, it's your turn to face the fires of Hell."

Before Deadshot could react, Etrigan lunged forward with astonishing speed, his clawed hand reaching for Deadshot's throat. The demon's strength was overwhelming, and it seemed as though Deadshot's fate was sealed.

But just as Etrigan's hand closed around Deadshot's throat, a golden lasso descended from the sky, encircling the demon's form. Wonder Woman flew down, "We don't kill. If you are going to work with us, you need to control your emotions. We need him alive."

Etrigan roared in fury as he was pulled back, his grip on Deadshot loosening, "Fine. But he has to pay for killing those innocents."

Deadshot, gasping for breath as he was released from Etrigan's grasp, nodded in response to Wonder Woman's command. He had narrowly escaped death.

"I've... got no intention... of dying today," he managed to rasp out, his voice hoarse from the near-strangulation.

Etrigan, still seething with anger, glared at Deadshot but relented. "Very well, Amazon. I shall not spill his blood this day, but mark my words, the scales of justice shall find him."

Wonder Woman released her hold on the demon. She looked at Deadshot, her expression stern, "You are coming with us."

Deadshot, though he had just faced a deadly encounter with Etrigan, realized that he was in no position to argue. He knew he had to cooperate if he wanted to avoid further confrontations with powerful heroes and supernatural beings.

"Alright," Deadshot conceded, his hands held up in a gesture of surrender. "I'll come with you. But I have conditions. You make sure Lex Luthor doesn't come after me, and you protect me from Waller. And provide security to my daughter. That Waller bitch will try to use her against me for failing the mission. In exchange, I'll spill the little details."

Raven flew up on the rooftop. She has somewhat regained her power.

Down on the streets, it was chaos due to the explosion.

As sirens wailed in the distance, police cars and fire brigades arrived at the scene of the LexCorp explosion. The once-imposing building now stood as a smoldering ruin, billowing smoke and flickering flames casting an eerie glow over the area.

Police officers rushed to secure the area, pushing back onlookers and establishing a perimeter. Firefighters worked diligently to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby structures. Emergency medical teams stood ready, anticipating the need for their services.

Raven opened two portals, "I will go and help Robin. You two take the portal to the Bat Cave."

"Will you be alright?" Wonder Woman asked out of concern.

"Yeah," She replied, "I have been through worse."

"Leave her alone. She is a fighter," Etrigan chimed in.

[Meanwhile, at the warehouse]

Robin, Starfire, Beastboy, and Cyborg were planning their best way to save the hostages.

"I have a nice idea," Robin looked toward Beastboy.

"Oh, I don't like that look," Beastboy replied with an awkward expression.

"Cyborg, mark the enemies..."

"On it," Cyborg started scanning the warehouse.

"Beastboy, turn into something smaller and infiltrate..."

Robin was about to give Beastboy his instructions when Cyborg raised a new idea. He wanted to hack into the cellphones of the enemies from outside the warehouse and cause them to explode.

However, Robin hesitated. He remembered Raven's warnings about the potential consequences of spilling blood. While it was a tempting idea, he didn't want to take any risks that might trigger the manifestation of the demon. He knew they had to proceed with caution.

"Nope, no killing," He stopped Cyborg, "Let Beastboy infiltrate. Starfire, you will burn down those cars. When they rush outside to check, we will take them in a single swoop with your sonic boom. Beastboy will take care of the remaining few on the inside."

"Sounds like a plan," Starfire agreed with Robin.

Beastboy, now in a rat's body, infiltrated the warehouse. The guards were unaware of his presence as he crept past them. He waited patiently for the others to enact their part of the plan.

Meanwhile, Starfire blasted the cars outside the warehouse and Cyborg aimed his arms toward the door, ready to use his sonic boom.

Suddenly, the guards on the inside of the warehouse heard a commotion. They quickly ran to the door and opened it, curious to see what was happening outside.

As soon as they stepped outside, Cyborg unleashed his sonic boom. The sound waves struck the guards, sending them flying back and knocking them unconscious.

Starfire's flames consumed the remaining vehicles, preventing the guards from escaping.

Beastboy transformed into a tiger and chased the remaining guards outside, pouncing on them and subduing them. Some of them tried to escape but Robin knocked them out swiftly with ease.

"Fuck you, Titans!" Two remaining guards open fire at the hostages.

Raven arrived at the warehouse and used her magic to create a shield around the hostages, protecting them from harm.

"Just on time," Beastboy jumped on the remaining two and knocked them out.

Robin looked at Raven, "What happened? Is the mission a success?"

"Saved Sarah, but things went bad... I will explain it later, right now, let's take care of this mess," She replied as she opened the portals.

"Cyborg, contact the authorities and let the GCPD arrest these people."

"On it, Robin," Cyborg replied.

[Back to Travis]

Sarah went to sleep after she narrowly escaped the Alien's attack at the LexCorp. She was pretty shaken up, but Travis was there beside her, holding her hand.

The events of the day had taken a toll on her, and the close encounter with danger at LexCorp had left her visibly shaken. Her breathing was uneven, and she clutched the bedsheets tightly as if they were her lifeline.

"Don't you worry," He gently brushed a strand of hair from her face and whispered words of comfort, even though she couldn't hear him, "I promise you... What happened today, won't happen again."

He couldn't help but worry about her. Gotham City has become more dangerous than he has actually imagined and now it has laid its claws at his loved ones. He couldn't even imagine what he would have done if anything had happened to his love.

He would have torn apart this city for all he knows...

What if something like this happens again with his parents?

'Can't let that happen,' Travis thought as his eyes fell outside the glass window. He could hear the muffled sirens of the police cars patrolling the night city. The red and blue light, blinking in the dark streets...

As he watched over Sarah, he made a firm decision. It was time to leave Gotham behind and find a safer place for his family. He couldn't bear the thought of them being caught up in the crossfire of the city's endless chaos.

Travis gently kissed Sarah's forehead.

[Morning] [Sarah's POV]

As the morning sunlight filtered through the curtains, Sarah stirred in her bed. The events of the previous day had left her physically and emotionally drained. She blinked a few times, trying to clear the remnants of sleep from her eyes.

Her gaze fell upon Travis, who was slouched in a chair beside her bed, still holding her hand. It warmed her heart to see him there, a silent guardian watching over her while she slept. It was moments like these that reminded her of the deep bond they shared.

With a gentle smile, Sarah carefully withdrew her hand from Travis's grasp, not wanting to wake him. She sat up slowly, feeling a bit stiff from her ordeal at LexCorp. The memories of the alien attack and the chaos that ensued were still fresh in her mind.

She quietly slipped out of bed, careful not to disturb him. Her bare feet touched the cool floor as she stood up, stretching her arms to shake off the stiffness that had settled in her muscles.

She picked up the blanket that had kept her warm through the night and approached Travis. Leaning down, she placed a soft kiss on his forehead. "Thank you," she whispered, her voice filled with love and gratitude. "Thank you for being there for me, for loving me the way you do." She softly covered him with the blanket.
