She would not deny that lunch had been spectacular. Only the best lamb, the most expensive caviar, and the rarest wine grazed the table.
Her host had been entertaining and gracious as he treated her with utmost respect, attending courteously to her every need.
But, "What am I doing here?" She wanted answers. "Stop with this charade." Refusing to accept any delectable desserts offered to her. "And tell me what you want."
Hal was good at avoiding her questions he did not want to answer. But she, too, would not be easily deterred, more determined to get what she wanted.
But honestly, she could not complain about the hospitality. Except for how she got here, her captor had been more than generous.
"That is something you should not worry about." Hal placed his napkin on the table after wiping his lips dry. "You are here to relax and enjoy."
