"I can't do it." She mentally told herself as she moved cautiously in the hallway.
She could not continuously lie to her husband and then look him in the eye and pretend she had done nothing wrong.
She admitted to committing terrible things. Nonetheless, she was still no criminal. She guessed she had to draw the line somewhere. At this point, she chose not to cross it, not even the gray lines.
"What should I do now?" Her eyes looked forward toward the narrow hallway. She saw a few guests wandering around. But she did not know any of them.
"Thankfully," She thought. She was not ready to face someone who might recognize her.
However, she only found a few handfuls she had directly dealt with in her business who attended the party. But what did she expect? She silently reminded herself. "How could I be so stupid?" She muttered under her breath.
