"She seems nice." Her stepmother commented after they had exchanged a few pleasantries with her mother-in-law.
It did not take long before Frances excused herself to attend to her other guests. But somehow, she could tell it had been the longest, excruciating few minutes of her mother-in-law's life, spending it with her and her family.
She watched Frances back as she moved away from her and her family, wondering what was her game. Of course, she did not buy her welcoming act. Well, not after what had transpired between them just moments ago.
"Yeah! I am glad that I finally met your mother." Her father said to Damon.
However, he had a look in his eyes that she could not put a name on it. She wondered if he was intrigued or dissatisfied. But whatever it was, her father was not giving anything much away.
However, Eugene had always been good at reading people. He had always known that Dale was a good man. But what about Damon? And what about Frances?
