"The nerve of that woman to walk out on me." She was fuming as she slammed the vase she found in the corner of the room near the door. "Who did she think she is?"
First, her daughter-in-law defied her wishes for her grandson. Then, she dared to tell her how she pitied her. She would not stand for it. She would not let something like this pass.
"I have destroyed your life once. I am sure I can do it again." She fisted her fingers against the palms of her hands as she stood straight. "This time, I will make sure I will not fail."
Instinctively, her hands moved toward her hair, fixing the strands that appeared to have loosened. Then, she squared her shoulders after deeply breathing before she exited the room to join the celebration again.
But before talking to anyone, she went to the bar, only waving to her guests who tried to call her attention. Then, she asked for her favorite drink, needing something to calm her down.
