"Where is she?" She looked around the crowded dance floor, trying to spot her friend among the gorgeous people mingling about the grand ballroom.
She had agreed with her friend to meet her here. She was a bit earlier than the time they had agreed upon. But she thought her friend might come early, too.
She did not want to stay too long at her apartment since she was avoiding a certain someone. Unfortunately, she knew she could not evade that annoying man for too long.
"Excuse me. Have you seen Jules?" She asked one of the guests she recognized at the other parties they had attended.
She knew he was one of Damon's friends or colleagues. Therefore, he might have seen the two among these hundreds of attendees.
"I asked if you have seen Jules or Damon?" She repeated when it appeared not to hear what she said.
He immediately turned to her, excusing himself from his present company. Then, she supposed she had captured his undivided attention.
