"I hope you will like my surprise." He whispered into her ears as he assisted her out of the car.
He knew this was a spur-of-a-minute decision, but he had been doing that more and more lately because of her. Nevertheless, he just thought he should do this for her.
Usually, he liked to think things through, but when it came to her, he seemed to be doing things without much thought.
But how she would react to his plan?
He could only hope she would like it.
"Surprise?" Her eyes narrowed at him, clearly not expecting more. "You mean to say..." She paused for a second, still looking overwhelmed. "I thought we were only taking the kids out for dinner."
He could see her eyes were swirling, probably trying to guess what he had in mind. But it would not be a surprise if he revealed to her the details before he showed her what he had planned.
