"Dale, I am sorry, but you can't..."
She could hear her voice.
"...because I love you."
Yet, it sounded so far away.
But, at the same time, it felt like it was just close by, whispering near her ears. Some words were crystal clear, while the others seemed to fade away.
She tried to look for him, but there seemed to be a cloud of smoke in her path. She waved her hand, hoping to dispense the fog blocking her sight, but it just worsened.
"Dale?" She knew she had just seen him a minute ago. He was standing there. She pointed at a spot in front of her, but again, she could not see anything.
She blinked, blinked, and blinked some more. She rubbed her eyes until tears pooled at the edge of her lids. But still, nothing seemed to make sense as she remained clueless about her situation.
"Dale?" She shouted louder, but no words seemed to leave her lips, but she could still hear her voice deep inside her head.
