"Are you for real?" She did not mean to laugh at him. She honestly tried to stop herself. But she could not help it as she uncontrollably giggled while she watched him make a fool of himself.
She guessed she had not seen many men who could not cook. She supposed she had surrounded herself with people competent enough to handle themselves in the kitchen.
"Maybe I should show you how..." She wanted to help, seeing that he seemed clueless about his task. "...it is done." She finished in a whisper when he interrupted her.
Her father might be a soldier. But he had always been great with his cooking skills. Even most of her sous chefs were from the male population.
Therefore, she assumed it was common for men to know some basic skills, especially talking about survival. But she figured she should not generalize everyone.
