She should have said that his work was a piece of crap instead of saying it was good enough. But she could not also ignore how hard he worked to fix those cabinets.
She might not trust him, but she had always been fair. Besides, the last few cabinets did look good. It was not perfect, but it was better than she expected.
"It is just a date. No biggie." She assured herself as she sat at her old but dependable car in the almost empty parking lot, getting ready to leave.
"Why am I making it a big deal?" She shook her head, hoping to forget about it. She had more important things to think of than him and his crazy bet.
But damnit! She did not expect to lose to him. She honestly thought she would win. But by sheer determination or dumb luck, he managed to finish.
