Damnit!
She should be ecstatic. She should be jumping for joy. Okay! Maybe not that, but at least she should be celebrating internally.
She would be getting out of her hospital gown, out of this four-cornered room. She would not have to smell the constant scent of antiseptic or hear the various beeping sounds of the machines all over the place.
"Hmm!" She could not stop the sigh that escaped her lips as she looked around her room. She believed she had memorized every inch of it, even the few stains on the walls.
Of course, she loved the hospital, but not like this, not as a patient. She would prefer to be on the other side, treating sick people.
But it would probably take weeks, even months of rehabilitation, before she could return to her duties. It would all depend on her progress.
"You can do this, Chantal." She psyched herself up as she changed into casual clothes, finally discarding the hospital gown she had worn last night.
