"So, how are we doing with our latest investment?" He grabbed the printed document the man handed him, reading the chart drawn into it.

It was not the kind of figure he would like to see. But at that moment, it was the only numbers he had cared to look at. At this point, it was the only thing that mattered.

"We are up by a few points." The man he hired to handle his investment portfolio informed him.

Suddenly, the words of his late father rang in his head like a broken record. "Learn your numbers," "know the market," and "study the family business," he would say.

Not that he did not try, but his brain was just not cut out for such a world. Every time he would look at numbers, it appeared like all his brain wanted to do was go in circles.

The digits and all that symbols just jumbled inside his head, but nothing seemed to make any fucking sense.

"I don't understand any of that." He admitted to his father. "I am not interested in your business."
