"Adoption?" She asked, a little bit surprised by his suggestion.
She guessed it made sense since the child would become an orphan if her grandfather died. However, she did not expect her husband would be resorting to taking permanent guardianship of the child.
"Doesn't she have any other relatives?" Usually, the court would award custody to the closest family member if something happened to the child's next of kin.
However, in Angelique's case, she was unaware of other living relatives of the child except for Jimmy. But she barely knew them. Maybe they had some distant blood relations.
"Jimmy had a cousin who had kids of their own. But they had been estranged for years." Dmon informed him. "I don't think Jimmy would want Angelique to stay with them."
She could understand that since she also had distant relatives she barely knew. But her mother would not want to bother them to care for her.
