"What the fuck, man?" His friend's taunting voice echoed in the room after he told him about what happened the previous day. "Are you serious about this?"
If he had not known his friend, he would have punched him in the face for making fun of him. But he was used to his friend's lousy sense of humor, so he only ignored his reaction.
But most of the time, he knew he could depend on him. He could even give solid advice once in a while. So, he did not mind if his friend acted stupid on occasion.
"I just thought that this would be the best solution to everything. I can give my son the family that he deserves. Then, I will have a wife as a bonus." That was how he wanted to rationalize his decision.
He knew many had already raised eyebrows when he married someone out of their social circle. Of course, he believed that most of them were counting the days till their divorce.
