He dropped down to his knees, buried his face in his palms, and cried. Like when he was a child, he crumpled on the floor, waiting for someone to hold him close.
But—
Nobody came.
Once again, he was alone.
"She is gone."
He was too late.
He had searched everywhere, but there was no trace of her. Nobody could tell him about her whereabouts. She had vanished. Now, he had no one else but himself.
He looked around the bedroom, seeing a few of her things that reminded him of her. But now, that was the only thing that was left.
"What have I done?" He questioned his decisions, even his choices in life.
He guessed he could only blame himself for his situation. He should have realized long ago that he had everything he wanted and more at his fingertips. If only he had not been so stubborn.
