"What are you thinking?" Thalia abruptly looked up and turned, suddenly realizing he was talking to her.
She had been trying to ignore him as they drove toward the coast, away from the diner, staring outside her window the whole time. Eventually, she must have zoned out without noticing it.
"Pardon?" She guessed he had asked her a question based on the inquiry reflecting in his eyes. But she did not hear any of it.
She admitted many things were going through her mind. But none of them was about the restaurant. Somehow, she knew it was in safe hands. But something else did bother her.
"You seemed to be in deep thought. I was asking if you were thinking about me." Travis cheesily asked, which sounded like a joke, but she did not find it funny.
He continued to drive, maneuvering effortlessly in the light traffic with her quietly sitting beside him. But he kept glancing her way now and then.
