"What is it?" Thalia could not wait for her to continue. Jules could see the anticipation on her friend's lovely face.
But first, her friend turned around, checking whether anybody was near within earshot. Her friend probably thought whatever she was about to say could be top secret.
However, it was not. It was just unusual.
It was not something they would typically deal with. After all, they were merely ordinary people from regular families.
"She what?" Thalia exclaimed in shock as she stood on her chair, planting her palm on the table's wooden surface.
She immediately hushed her friend when she caught the worker's attention around them. But she knew she only wanted to clarify if she had heard her correctly.
"Don't be so loud." Jules pulled her back down, returning her to her seat. "My mother-in-law unexpectedly visited us last night and overheard my conversation with Damon."
