"You look like a cat that swallowed the canary."
He did not need to turn around to determine the identity of his visitor. He already knew who it was even without looking.
"So, what gives?" The newcomer asked as she continued to walk into the room.
He finally looked up, away from the paperwork on his table, and stared at his new guest. He was not expecting to see her since she was not on his schedule.
Nevertheless, he would not be surprised if she had charmed her way into his office, bypassing his security and secretary. After all, she always got her way.
"That is none of your business." Damon brusquely answered, but a smile followed on his lips as he stood up and welcomed her. "But what are you doing here, Jessica?"
It had been years since he last saw her. He could not even remember precisely when. But he was sure it was right about after her wedding.
