He might be saying the words he needed to hear, but his body language was telling him otherwise. Something still did not feel right, and his instincts were seldom wrong.
"I don't see anything out of place." He would admit that. "But tell me, Mr. Banes, why Patricia?" He just had a gut feeling that there was more to it than met the eyes.
"What do you mean, Sir?" Suddenly, his nervousness was more apparent as worried lines appeared on his forehead and beads of sweat spread across his skin.
He finally confirmed that something was happening under his nose. And he had to find out what it was before it became too late.
"Why put Patricia on the project when we knew someone else could have done it better? I think Bob deserved the project more than her." Citing another employee who had shown so much potential as a project leader.
He believed if someone deserved the break, it was that young man. But alas, his manager thought he knew better. Again, why?
