After all the things said and done, could she trust this man? She hoped so. Nonetheless, she could trust her instinct, believing it knew what it wanted.
Right? And she wanted him.
"I want what you want." She agreed with him, believing that he was worth taking the risk. That she was here because she wanted to see where this was going.
It was not as if she was saying she loved him. But she knew she respected him enough to trust him. She knew now that he would not hurt her.
And she guessed that was better than any declaration of love. And that should be enough foundation for building a future with this man.
"I like you very much." He kept repeating as he held her closer to his body.
And the warmth of his skin against hers told her how much. And to be frank, she believed she felt the same way. But could she say it out loud? Could she admit it to him?
