He wished.
He hoped that was the case.
Sadly, it was not.
Everybody thought he already had everything he needed just because he was born as a Hawkins. But that was full of shit. It was hardly true, at least not half of it.
But unlike most children, he felt he had no right to wish for more. Still, as much as many adored him, many also envied his life.
"You are a Hawkins. Act like one." His parents would drill that in his head each time he did not behave according to their strict standards.
At an early age, he learned the hard way about inequality. He was not the same as the rest of his friends. It meant he could not be like them.
Nonetheless, he still thought he was just like everyone else. He did not have everything he needed. He also wanted more.
"If you want something in this life, you can't simply sit, wait, and wish for it. That is not how life works, my son. You have to act and take what you want."
