"You are undoubtedly sick." That was the only explanation he could derive from his behavior. "You are probably not thinking clearly."
Who would in his right mind want a man like him protecting and caring for a girl like her? There must be someone more qualified to be her legal guardian than him.
"Why would you pick me?" He continued when the man seemed convinced that he picked the right man.
He believed he was not the man for the job. Besides, it was not why he wished to do business with his old friend.
He wanted his business, not his granddaughter.
"Why not you?" Jimmy questioned, furrowing brows at him with a silly smile. "Before you say you are unsuitable, I will beg to differ."
His old friend refilled their drinks, offering him some snacks that he politely declined. But he drank the juice that he poured on his glass.
