Love!
Marriage could survive without it.
Right?
Damon knew several people who had married for convenience. They did not need to factor love into the equation to make a successful relationship.
But thinking about his parents, he could not help but wonder if love ever mattered in their affair. Truthfully, if he would compare his grandparent's relationship with his parents, he would admit there was a marginal difference.
"Love..." The word flashed in his mind like a neon light as his brother's assertion sank into his brain.
What did he know about love? He guessed just a little. If he would equate his devotion to his family with love, then that was the most of his knowledge of the word.
He always swore never to allow a woman to have a hold of him. Commitment and emotional attachment were distractions he did not need in his life.
"What is it about you?" He questioned internally as the image of his wife crossed his mind.
