Silence filled the small room of his vehicle as they rode to their destination. It was not a long drive, but still, it would take them several minutes to reach the place.
Nevertheless, hearing his heart beating inside his chest and the air as it passed through his nostrils was not helping, as it just added to his growing agitation.
Damnit!
Why was he nervous?
He could feel the tiny beads of sweat behind his neck, back, and the palms of his hands. He had never felt anything like this, at least not for years.
Although he was not immune to fear, he managed to put it under control. He had never allowed such emotion to hinder his actions or interfere with his decisions.
But not today!
Or better yet, since he met his wife, he noticed he had been different. And that included things like feeling anxious and the nagging need to apologize.
He was not like that.
