Chapter 1 - Glitch!? *

'Am I dead?' That's the question that's been pondered in my thoughts right now. The answer is simple: Of course not! If this were a game, then it would be impossible for me to die here—but in reality...? What if there was some kind of fatal bug? A glitch or something like that...

But no matter how many times I think about it, even as much time has passed since we entered the labyrinth, nothing happens. It can't mean anything good...Right?! Right?!"

All because the moment I enter the Labyrinth and walk into a trap, my character seems to be bugged out and couldn't even move a bit. What was worse was that my status indicated that my character had died and yet my consciousness was still in the game.

Because Eternal SoulS would kick the player out from the server immediately if their character died in this VRMMORPG. As a player required to repurchase the game just to be able to play the game again. But the previous data on the account where the character had died would be deleted completely. Meaning all players that had died would be starting from scratch.

Of course, it seems like a cash grab for the developer but the game isn't paid to win, as it's 100% grind… Plus the developer needed to make money and it's a good way despite many criticizing the game method for generating income.

But that shouldn't be my concern now, what is happening to me… As all of this doesn't make sense.

I couldn't even contact the server admin as somehow my chat features had been disabled. Making it worse that I had to be stuck here…

I did try to log out from the game, but it does say successfully log out but somehow… I'm just stuck here for some reason.

…

..

I have gotten quite tired of this already… And it's been hours already since I have been in this state.

I couldn't do anything and it seemed like I would get stuck here until the developer or the one managing the game noticed an odd thing, that was me. However, I wish that it could happen sooner as I don't wanna lose my data and repurchase the game because of a glitch.

My surroundings are very familiar, but also foreign at the same time. There's no more blue sky overhead, only pitch-blackness. Even my system menu looks unfamiliar to me now.

"...!!"

As soon as I realized what I saw through the dark mist, I tried desperately to shout but produced only a small grunt.

I was surprised as I thought I couldn't let out my voice compared to before. I then tried to move my hand around and found that I wasn't paralyzed anymore. However, the stat didn't seem to work properly either.

"Haaah!" I gasped. With great effort, I lifted myself off the ground using both hands and legs.

A huge door appears in front of me, a very ornate door. My guts tell me that I need to open it up and walk into it. Also because there's no other way besides that path as it's utter darkness in here.

With the build-up courage, I opened the door and walked right into it…

All of a sudden, I feel like my whole body was being sucked away by something huge. My eyesight got blurry with darkness before finally turning off entirely. When they came back on again, everything felt different…

What happened? Am I in another world? Or perhaps I am trapped inside yet another glitch?

The place was a huge wreck, I felt like it was a wasteland but there were a lot of destroyed buildings all over the place. I had never seen such a place before in my life, as it had never existed in the game before.

My thoughts were in a state of confusion, as I certainly have no idea what's happening right now.

All the online features are clearly stated offline in my system. And yet I was still here, stuck inside of this game.

I tried to open up my map feature but it seems like, it was reset. As if the place that I was in right was a new area. I can't even use my warped crystal to get back to the town. Making me anxious about my current situation.

However, I decided that there was no use feeling that way since I wouldn't get the answer that I needed to solve my problem. Thus the only logical thing that I should be doing is to explore this place.

And if what I am thinking is right. Then there should be a town nearby or some sort of safe point in this area.

I started walking down a path, as I walked... I realized part of the map is being discoverable. I thought it was a bit weird for me to do so as the map should be filled up automatically as I explore.

As I walked further and further, I found something odd… There's a strange sound that I can't seem to place. It sounded like someone was breathing heavily, and it was coming from behind me.

I turned around quickly to see what was making that noise, and it was just a large monster.

A monster that I hadn't seen before and it wasn't listed in the monster guide of this game before.

I took a closer look at the creature, it was very similar to the high orcs but it's a different monster altogether. I guess that's why my system didn't recognize it, as it must be a new monster added to the game.

The monster looks quite intimidating and scary, as it has a huge body with sharp fangs sticking out of its mouth. Plus a weapon that seems to be radiating an ominous aura.

Making me think that it's an enchanted weapon, which means this monster isn't a pushover at all.

The monster is aware of my presence and it is currently looking at me. I have to fight this thing if I want to pass this area and I have to win to survive.

The monster charged towards me without any warning, so I had no time to react.

I quickly take out my magun and aim it toward the charging monster.

I then shoot my magun at the charging monster, but the shot doesn't have enough power to deal any significant damage. I was quite surprised at that as my weapon itself is a pretty powerful magun. Plus I am a high-level player, so I shouldn't be struggling against this monster.

However, the monster was still charging towards me, so I had no choice but to keep shooting it.

I continued to shoot it multiple times, but my shots didn't seem to do any damage to it. It was as if the monster was immune to my attacks. Could it be that this monster is invincible?

I don't know how to explain it, but the monster seems to be absorbing my shots.

I was getting more and more frustrated by the second, so I decided to try a different approach. If my normal magun shots ain't working, I have to infuse it with elemental magics.

I started to chant the spell 'Enchant Fire Elements' and my magun began to glow red.

As I shot my magun, the shot turned into a beam of particle fire and hit the monster directly.

This time, it was different as the monster was taking some damage from the shot. However, the damage was still minimal and it didn't seem to be enough to kill it.

'Tch... What kind of monster is this?' I clicked my tongue as I saw that the monster is still standing, and it was still looking at me.

I decided to change my strategy once again, I had to use a different spell this time. So I started to chant the spell 'Enchant Lightning Elements' and my magun began to glow yellow.

As I shot my magun, the shot turned into a beam of lightning and hit the monster directly.

This time, it was much more effective as the monster was taking a lot of damage from the shot. The monster even let out a scream as it got electrocuted.

But despite all of that, the high orcs are still standing. It's pretty tough for a monster.

I was getting frustrated now as I can't seem to kill this monster, and it's not going down anytime soon.

'What should I do? Should I use that skill... but I know that it would deplete my MP quickly.' I was thinking deeply about how to deal with the monster.

I know that the only way to defeat this monster is to use my trump card.

So I decided to use it, I began to chant the spell 'Mana Shot' and my magun began to suck away all of my mana. I didn't like using this skill as it going to drain all my mana and convert it to an attack power.

My magun then fired a shot at the monster, and it was a direct hit. The shot was so powerful that it sent the monster flying, and it crashed into the ground.

The monster then lay there motionless, as it was finally defeated. And it seems like almost 65% of my mana was used up to defeat the monster.
