Wait a minute, isn't this the cannibal's island?
A chilling thought sent shivers down my spine. Could this truly be the same dreaded island where cannibals reside? It felt like a twisted joke of fate. What were the odds of ending up in such a dreadful place again?
This doesn't quite add up, given that the map is over fifty years old. There are only two plausible explanations: either the skull symbol signifies something else entirely, or the cannibals have been on this island for nearly fifty years.
If it's indeed the latter scenario, then the cannibals have been on this island for nearly fifty years, engaging them here would be a grave mistake as it's essentially their own territory. A wiser approach would be to wait until they gather together and then use my last torpedo against them.
Around thirty of us arrived in this world together, but it's been a few days, so I'm uncertain about how many of them are still alive. I don't want to put myself at risk by attacking the cannibals without a valid reason.
For now, I will use the Periscope to observe them, then I will decide whether to attack them or just leave them alone.
After a few hours, I discovered a couple of important details. Firstly, there are approximately twenty-five cannibals on the island. I managed to thoroughly survey the entire island using the NS Scorpion.
Secondly, I identified at least six survivors. While I was exploring the island, I came across some metal cages and noticed the presence of at least six individuals.
If I recall correctly, there were even a few children among us when we arrived in this world. However, I haven't been able to locate them anywhere at the moment.
Considering the circumstances, my strategy involves using the last remaining torpedo for a surprise attack, followed by using the assault rifle to eliminate any remaining threats.
Managing to load an assault rifle with just one hand is indeed a challenge. To address this, I'm considering carrying multiple pre-loaded assault rifles. This way, I can quickly switch to another rifle when I run out of bullets.
Ok, now that's decided let's wait for the perfect time to attack. Let's go back to with a Boom!
After a few hours, night had fallen and a group of cannibals began to board a larger boat, which was slightly bigger than the fishing boat that arrived with us. I decided to wait until they moved further out into the ocean.
After a few minutes, they set the boat in motion, sailing away from the island and taking about fifteen of them on board. With this opportunity, I made the decision to initiate the attack.
I went and aimed the torpedo, and fired it and after a few minutes, it made contact with the cannibal's boat.
*Boom*
A huge explosion erupted catching the attention of everyone on the island, both the cannibals and the survivors.
Unlike the underwater battle with the mermen, this time the cannibal's boat was on the water's surface. As a result, the explosion was significantly larger and more intense.
While everyone was distracted by the explosion I steer the NS Scorpion near the cannibal's island.
Someone saw the vessel and started approaching it, I opened the hatch and saw them coming closer to the vessel.
I took my assault rifle and started blasting everyone, unlike last time, I was packing so much firepower with me, literally.
They started going down like moths to a flame, then I jumped from the NS Scorpion and somehow managed to land safely on the beach and Rex followed me, with his Bloody Axe.
He really does like that Bloody Axe for some reason. Seeing me making my landing from the vessel, the cannibals started to approach me.
In addition, more cannibals were emerging from the dense vegetation. However, due to the limitations of the NS Scorpion's view, I could only observe the beach and open areas, missing the activities within the forest.
As their numbers increased, their group grew to nearly thirty, and they were rapidly closing in on my position.
I had not only brought assault rifles with me but also a few grenades. While I considered bringing grenade launchers, I realized that handling them with just one hand would be challenging.
As some of the cannibals grouped closely together, I threw a grenade toward them. The explosion resulted in a gruesome scene, with their blood and body parts scattered in all directions.
Someone was shouting at the cannibalistic pirates from the back, could he be their leader? If possible I should capture him alive.
When I was switching my weapon some cannibals saw this as an opportunity and started approaching me but they were sorely mistaken.
*Ahaaaa*
Screams echoed through the air as Rex darted between the cannibals, slashing at their Achilles' heels and tendons, preventing them from approaching me. His Bloody Axe was a deadly blur, severing some cannibals' feet in the process.
At one point, a cannibal sat down in agony due to his injuries. Seizing the opportunity, Rex dashed towards the seated cannibal, using him as a springboard to launch himself into the air. With the weight of the axe and the assistance of gravity, Rex descended like a meteor, beheading the immobilized cannibal.
The scene unfolded like something out of a movie. Rex's swift and agile movements created chaos among the cannibals. Despite their larger size, they struggled to catch up to his speed and evade his strikes.
The man I assumed to be their leader shouted at the other cannibals, "It's just a dog! Why are you afraid of it?"
One of the cannibals responded, "We can handle a regular dog, but not a dog with an axe."
The leader's voice grew more intense, "What the hell are you all talking about? Kill that mutt and his master, and bring their heads to me!"
Wait, didn't they speak in a different language before? Why are they suddenly speaking in a language I understand now? No matter what happens, I should try to capture one of them to gather information.
"Rex falls back", I gave him a commend. Seeing me calling him he retreated and I continued with the slaughter.
After a few minutes, most of them were laying in their own sea of blood, and a river of blood started to flow but, I regret nothing because they are not humans but monsters that look like humans.
They weren't the only ones bathed in blood; as Rex wreaked havoc, he became completely drenched in the cannibals' crimson blood along with his bloody axe.
sighs
I let out a sigh and muttered, "No matter what world we find ourselves in, you always manage to get dirty, don't you?"
It's the same situation back on Earth. No matter how clean I get him at the groomer's or after a bath, he somehow ends up dirty within a few hours. How he accomplishes that remains a mystery to me.
*Whimper*
Upon hearing my reproach, he looked at me with a sad expression and let out a whimper. I'm not sure how others would react if they witnessed this scene.
A dog covered in the blood of his enemies, holding an axe with his mouth that's also stained in blood, while wearing a sad expression – I'm quite certain that observers would assume Rex hasn't had the chance to slaughter enough enemies, and that he's feeling down about this fact. As a result, they would likely attempt to distance themselves from him as much as possible.
Now, most of the cannibals are dead; only a few of them remain, including the individual who I presume to be the leader.
There were three cannibals left. They witnessed all this chaos and began to flee, attempting to escape into the forest to shake us off. However, that's not going to happen. I grabbed my assault rifle and aimed, shooting each of them in the legs.
*Ahaaaa*
With a loud scream, they all fell to the ground, each of them bleeding from their legs due to my shots.
I approached them one by one and incapacitated them by striking them with the butt of my assault rifle. Subsequently, I secured them to a tree.
After a few minutes, they regained consciousness. I approached the individual I presumed to be their leader and initiated the process of questioning him.
"So, why did you pretend like you couldn't understand our language when we first arrived on the island?"
He spat on the ground and said, "Do you think I will answer all your questions? You drifters are all the same, you are nothing but snowflakes who think that the world is all sunshine and rainbows. Just because you have a few powerful toys, don't think you're anything special."
I see, words won't reach people like him. I've encountered many individuals like him during my time in the Navy – people who treat others' lives as a joke, who believe they are superior to everyone else, who derive pleasure from torturing others and treating them like toys. I've come across all kinds of scumbags.
They are all monsters who just look like humans, and to make them understand you have to become a monster as well.
I took a small military knife that I got from one of the military trunks and stabbed him in the same spot where the bullet pierced him.
*Ahaaaa*
