Outside the forest, Elder Jie manned the Spirit Cannon. The air was thick with anticipation as everyone held their breath, awaiting the beasts Su Ming would lure out.
The prolonged wait started to weigh on their nerves, and worry crept into their minds as Su Ming had been gone for over thirty minutes without returning.
Elder Jie and Elder Mei turned their heads to look at Su Yen, seeking reassurance.
Perceiving their gaze, Su Yen responded, "Don't worry, nothing will happen to him."
The two elders exchanged glances and nodded, choosing to trust his words. There was nothing more they could do but wait.
After another half-hour of anxious waiting, impatience overcame the two elders. Worry etched on their faces, and Elder Jie prepared to rush into the forest when he heard Su Yen's solemn command.
