As the thick, eerie darkness blanketed every corner of the land, Su Ming felt an icy shiver run down his spine. The all-encompassing obscurity weighed on him like a shroud of impending doom.
"Is this the end of our land?" he muttered, his voice trembling with panic and fear. His gaze darted toward the direction of the sect, where his thoughts momentarily lingered on his missing brother.
However, sentimentality had no place in the midst of the chaos. A sudden, whistling red streak caught the corner of his eye, and his instincts kicked into overdrive.
"Shit!" he cursed, his body contorting as he twisted to the left. The malevolent red sword grazed past his armor, leaving behind a screeching sound that sent a chill down his spine.
Su Ming swallowed the lump in his throat, his face etched with dread. "That was close."
His attention shifted to the two red sword-wielding Blood Whisperers on either side of him.
