God what's wrong with me?
After that drama, me and Devon had my days become very slow as a turtle.
Everything is slow as well as my performance at work. This is not me! Literally not!
"Is there something bothering you, girl? Cause I can sense it. Even if you don't tell me the truth it's obvious", my friend Riley said after wiping the tables.
She squinted her eyes and raised her left brow at me. Trying to get something. God this woman only wants to get some juicy issues from me. Unfortunately, she won't receive one.
"Reply back, please!", she begged.
But I was quick enough to change the subject.
I picked up the mop and the pail and entered the cleaning room.
"Where's Dale? I thought she's going to come here early?", Yeah. Where's that woman?!
Riley rolled her eyes heavenwards before speaking.
"That crazy bitch is probably busy with her Kpop boys. She's blowing my notifications earlier, talking about this group yada yada yada! When will she come to her senses that her delusion is getting out of control!"
That made me laugh because Riley is obviously tired with Dale's kpop stories and her fangirling talk everyday.
But yeah, whatever makes her happy. They are the reason why she's still with us. Those kpop idols saved her and heals the wound they didn't even create in the first place.
It amazes me how these people provide comfort using their music. If ever I was given a chance to meet these idols in the future I will thank them nonstop. They don't have a clue how much my friend adores them.
I came back to my senses when Dale arrived holding a box, screaming.
Probably the albums she purchased last week.
The two started to argue when Dale cried because she pulled the pc of her bias. (pc- photocard)
I laughed at them and heaved a sigh.
This is a good start to begin the night. I need to get back to my old self. I should work fast or else I'm getting scolded.
…
"Do you have a boyfriend?" Dale asked as soon as I entered the locker room.
"Do I look like I have one?" Instead of answering her question I asked her back with a question.
"Obviously, yes!", she nodded her head aggressively.
"Do you even have any proof to prove your claim, Miss?" I turned to her and she looked confident.
She got up from her seat and reached the top part of my locker.
"Here's the proof", she shows her hand holding six pieces of white roses.
"Where did you get that?", I asked, confused.
"That's not the question, Miss! Who gave you these?" She looked at me as if I'm being interrogated. Obviously she wants a scoop but there's nothing going on.
"That's not mine, Dale", I protest.
"That's not mine, Dale," She mimicked. Obviously not convinced enough with my answer.
That's the truth though. Why is she like this?!
"These roses are for you, don't you read the note?"
"What note?"
"These notes"
She then again reached above the locker and handed me the six pieces of sticky notes with different colors.
I can't believe it!
I looked at her, obviously puzzled. I can't digest everything.
"Where exactly are these from? I don't even have someone in mind who will actually send these flowers" I pointed to the white roses she's still holding using my lips.
"You don't know? Are you telling me the truth?" She looks so confused right now.
I looked at the notes and each of them has this initial. D.A.M
They're missing another letter. Maybe they forgot the N.
Just kidding!
The first note says "Have a beautiful night", the second one is "The moon shines so bright, Luna". The third one, "Keep safe, mi luna". The fourth and fifth notes were just the same, saying "Take care of yourself, Luna."
The last note made Dale scream.
"I'll take things slow and wait for you until you remember me"
Oh god! That guy really is making my head hurt as hell.
Dale finally stopped pinching and screaming. She sat and inhaled exhaled, trying to calm herself.
"Do you even know what white roses means?"
"Nope. Don't have a clue about that."
"What the freak, Luna! It means young love and innocence! Isn't that so sweet? Young love is so cute! I'll assume it's from your first love/admirer. And you know what?"
"What?", I lazily asked.
"They use white roses for weddings too!" She squeals nonstop and starts to pinch and hit me with her free hand.
"Stop squealing! I know who exactly send this flowers"
Her jaw dropped.
"Really? Who?!"
"Just some random guy who likes to annoy people"
"Is he handsome?", she can't stop smiling like a fool.
Excited to know my answer.
Well he definitely is. His face is sculpted, his shoulders are wide and looks hard. Tall, as in freaking tall. Back when we were still orphans he was one of the shortest kids I know. I was taller than him before but now I imagine myself beside him looking like an elf because after puberty hits me my height stops at 5'4.
Among my friends I'm the tallest one. I should be grateful enough that I surpassed the 5 feet height. Not bad at all for me.
"Earth to Luna Valdez, can you hear me?"
I shook my head and blinked. I get lost thinking of him.
"Sorry, what?"
"Don't answer. I already know he's handsome just the way you got lost thinking about him. Choosing the right words to describe him huh? Does he look like those Greek gods? With a high nose and the voice is deep as an ocean? How tall is he? What does he do for a living? Does he have a sib—" I covered her mouth.
She's not going to stop and I know it. I just had to cover her talkative mouth for seconds.
And she needs to calm the freak down.
She removed my hand from her mouth and frowned.
"I'll do my own research, Luna. You'll never get away with this secret admirer of yours. We need a name and I'll make sure after this job I'll devote myself to searching for that guy's info. You get that?" She then packs her things and runs towards the door.
Oh god! I know how good she is at this kind of thing.
I guess I'll just quit this job and never show my face to her, because I know that once she starts she'll never end.
