As the bike approaches, you calculate the correct distance before jumping off your perch, cape fluttering in the wind, a smile hidden underneath your helmet.
The Handyman spots you, and you can feel the quick burst of surprise as he swerves the bike. At the last second, you fire up your jump-jets, using them to adjust your trajectory, so you land right in front of him all the same.
Perfect.
You can feel his mind as you reach out and push your will against his. The Handyman is strong, disciplined, but you don't need much leverage to make him jerk the bike to the side, off balance enough that he has to lay the bike down.
The bike skids along the ground, leaving a trail of sparks behind as cars break to avoid you both. He manages to keep it under control, which you admit is a bit impressive.
Not that it matters. He's still left picking himself up from the ground as you stride down the road toward him.
You want to have some fun before you end this.
There's no time to waste, you want to end this fight as soon as possible, and this is the perfect moment to strike. The Handyman is shaken. You can see him struggling with his motorcycle helmet, pulling it off. It might have protected him before, but in a fight, it would just be in the way.
Beneath it, he's wearing a mask. It is a simple diamanté one, masking his identity less than the average blandness of his face and coveralls. He takes a moment to pull a cap from his pocket, adjusting it to the right angle over his black hair.
You stalk toward him like the predator you are, your cape fluttering behind you like tattered wings, a smile hidden underneath your twisted helmet. You can feel his fear, the way he takes just the smallest step back.
So afraid. Good.
If your opponent is terrified, the battle is half won already, and by now, you have grown so very good at making them quake in fear.
As you move, the Handyman reacts, reaching into his coveralls for something. A weapon? You're willing to bet that's the case.
Above, you can hear the distant sound of an approaching helicopter. Good. The audience has arrived, just in time. It won't matter if it's a redirected traffic chopper or news-helo out on another job; what's important is that they'll have cameras.
And that you'll be on the news tonight. Victorious once again.
Time to make a decision.
