Chapter 434 - 161

He grins. "Oh, I am. I thought moving to the city would be fun. How dumb is that?"

"You couldn't have known."

"I could have. I should have. Vicky knew. We're werewolves. I may not like it, but our lives are never going to be easy, or peaceful. If it's not vampires, then it's hunters, and if it's not hunters, then it's the moon. The forests might not be much fun, but they're isolated, safe."

You carry the slab of wood into the den. Minjo is there already with a power drill, fixing the wood over the windows.

"Are you sure we should be using wood for this?" She asks. "What if Blackwell sets the place on fire?"

"This is a warehouse," Marco says as he strides in the door, the remains of a chair under his arm. "Steel structure, tin walls, concrete floors. Cold as fuck, but fireproof. Even if he burns the windows, he won't burn the building down."

Minjo shakes her head. "I've seen warehouses burn down on TV."

"Yeah but it was the stuff inside that was burning, not the warehouse itself."

"Still..."

"Blackwell won't use fire," Ed tries to reassure her. "Vampires hate the stuff. I read it online."

Minjo doesn't look at all reassured. She drills in another screw. "I need non flammable materials, and water, just in case."

"You'll get water," the Alpha says, carrying a slab of wood in the door. "Marta!"

"On it, Alpha."

"Hey, Alpha," Ed says. "I've been thinking... is there any chance we might be able to... eh... get some help? Because, you know, fire-phobia aside, we really don't know all that much about killing vampires."

"It's easy!" Marco says, dumping his wood into the pile. "Rip the head off."

ripripripriprip

"Don't let them bite you," Vicky adds.

"Yeah... okay... that's great," Ed mutters. "But I've got another suggestion."

"A suggestion?" you echo sceptically.

"If we really want to know how to kill vampires... why not talk to a hunter?"

"What is it with you and hunters?" Marco mutters. "They want you dead. You realise that, don't you?"

"Okay. Yeah. Sure. But maybe some hunters want vampires dead more? I've been doing some research and there is this one guy, Lee, who's whole thing is a vampire killed his family. His whole brand is hating vampires. He's like a budget Blade."

"And you think budget Blade is going to agree to help us?" Marco says. "A band of werewolves?"

"If we talk to him, maybe."

"And if he decides he'd rather do his job and kill us?"

"Then we rip his head off," Ed says.
