You and Ed glance at each other. Then, slowly, begin to pick your away around the house. You don't find any more wards. What you do find is a garage. It has a door on the side.
"You think this is it?"
"I don't see anything else here," you say and watch as Ed knocks loudly as instructed.
You hear a crash from inside followed by a muffled curse. A moment later the door opens and a remarkably skinny man in his early thirties pokes his head out, squinting in the late afternoon sunlight. He reeks of cheap body soap and even cheaper cigarettes.
"What? Who are you? You can't come in here. The open house is over."
"We're not here for the open house," you say.
"What are you here for?"
Ed straightens and offers his hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr Bates. I'm John White. This is my associate Jack Reed. I sent a message."
