Rade is in a foul mood.
Vedran watches the man from a distance, not eager to be on the receiving end of his pent-up anger.
The more time that Vedran has spent with the rebels, the more Rade reminds Vedran of his own father.
How long until this butcher loses his head and does something irrational? He laughs at the thought. Vedran knows that he is far from the right man to criticize someone for being irrational.
Vedran feels highly disillusioned with Rade and the others. He feels disillusioned with himself. A sense of apathetic melancholy has settled over him, mixing with his regret.
The prince no longer wants to be with these rebels. Already, he has started to mentally plan his own escape. He has no intention to return to Elya and Arthur Hornraven. He knows that returning to them would likely mean his own death.
Rade was a fool to trust me.
Vedran sighs.
