As you draw near the base of the hill, you can make out the specific members of the opposing group. The man leading the front is clearly of some kind of nobility, based on his expensive-looking plate armor and warhorse.
The man on his left, however, is harder to pin down. He's dressed in a fine red doublet, but his chest is covered by a vest of plate. He wears a feathered cap of the same color as his doublet.
The rest of his company is composed of armored horsemen, similar to Elya's bodyguards.
You yourself are unarmored and suddenly feel very exposed.
The leader of the group calls out, "Who the hell are you?"
Elya shoots you a quick glance.
