It has been a decade since the invasion of the Death Incarnation to the Pangea Continent. As the kingdom bordering in the north, Avior Kingdom was the first to feel the impact. At that time, a young captain was fighting in the war with his fellow soldiers. His name was Geldal Vheruno, the eldest son of a completely average family. As an undead approached him, he quickly sliced them apart with his great axe.
"I hate how their stench is hard to come off, I have to thoroughly clean my axe after every battle!" complained Geldal.
"There's nothing we can do other than fight, Geld. We can't complain when we were placed on the frontlines. You were the one who decided to apply to become a soldier in the first place." a blonde soldier replied sternly.
"Agh, I know that. Just shut up and ignore my grumbles," grumbled Geldal. "There are still plenty of those rotten corpses."
Geldal has always been a normal human. He wasn't talented, but still capable of fighting, but that's just all that is to it. Because he was only proficient at wielding big weapons like a great axe or a hammer, he usually came out as the most injured. However, he never complained about his injuries as he knew that surviving was already a miracle. Whenever he battles against the controlled corpses of the Death Incarnation, he always thought to himself, "It will be fine, I'll survive again today."
However, it looks like today the Fortune Goddess wasn't looking at him.
"The Lich has summoned a corpse meteor! Everyone evacuate!"
As Geldal looked up when he heard those words, he saw a large disgusting pile of human and dragon corpses smushed together going after the soldiers and him. A wave of fear splashed all over him as he tried to run. Remember, he TRIED to. When the corpse meteor touched the ground, a large explosion occurred. No matter how fast he runs, the explosion will still catch up with him, and Geldal knew this.
BOOM!!!
'Looks like today isn't my lucky day,' Geldal thought bitterly as he saw his life flashed before him.
However, he woke up from what felt like a good night's sleep. He woke up and found himself on top of the burned corpses of his comrades. Feeling disgusted, he vomited again and again on what remained of the battlefield.
Blegh... BLEEGHHHH!
After vomiting what felt like his whole intestines, the wave of pain finally washed all over him.
AAGGGHH!!!
His scream echoes as unbearable pain washed all over his body. It is a given, though, since his lower half was burned beyond recognition and his whole right arm has turned black due to the severe burn.
Due to the unbearable pain, it wasn't long until he lost consciousness again.

"Ughh, where am I...?" Geldal quietly murmurs while he is waking up.
He found himself on top of a bed inside what seemed like a medical tent. He saw multiple boxes full of medical supplies lying everywhere in that tent.
"Oh, you're awake, sir... Geldal? Am I right?" a young man wearing leather armor went inside the tent and greeted him.
"Ye- yes, I am Geldal, but where am I? Am I back inside the camp? But how is it possible? I saw that huge pile of corpses come crashing onto us-"
"Well, I honestly also don't know, Sir Geldal. It was a miracl-, no, it's something more than a miracle for you to survive Lich Pharnas' Deathly Meteor," the medic said.
Lich Pharnas was the commander of the undead army Geldal was fighting.
"How did you find me?" asked Geldal. "Well, we found your body right in the crater the meteor makes. We thought you were dead, but you woke up and vomited and then lost consciousness."
"What's weirder is how your body can withstand the impact. Can you believe that? I didn't see any other body near the crater, let alone inside the crater, but we found you! Alive and well!" the medic explained.
'Huh, that is weird as hell,' thought Geldal.
"Well, although you survived that disaster, you are still currently heavily injured, so take lots of rest! See you soon, Sir Geldal!" the medic waved goodbye.
As Geldal lay back on his patient bed, he suddenly drifted to the realm of dreams...

'Huh? Where am I?' Geldal thought as he woke up and found himself floating in a void of nothing.
'Don't tell me I'm dead after surviving all of that...'
SWOOSH!
A huge fire suddenly lit before him. The fire was enormous, and Geldal almost thought it was the sun itself.
However, the huge sphere of fire quickly shrinks into the size of a human adult's fist. But, instead of turning colder, the fire turned hotter for every second it shrank as the heat compressed itself.
"AAGHH!! WHAT THE FU-" Geldal shouted, feeling the extreme heat of the small fire sphere.
Geldal then experienced the pain he felt after surviving the Lich's meteor, but this time it was much worse, as the fire sphere slowly moved towards his torso and merged itself to Geldal's body.
Geldal's pain turned from bad to worse. Fortunately, this time, the pain didn't last long, only for a few seconds as the pain quickly got replaced with a warm feeling enveloping Geldal's body.
He felt like his mother embraced him again.
'I see... so you have become a human...' a majestic, yet pressuring voice echoed through Geldal's head.
Snap!
As a small snap echoed, Geldal disappeared from the void.
'I have done what you asked me, and I gave it back to you.'
'Hope you'll live a good life this time, old friend.'
