CELESTINA'S POV
"Scalpel."
The nurse handed it to her whilst wiping her forehead. She knew she had to be careful not to cut the wrong side.
The tumor in his brain was quite risky and it will determine whether the child would survive.
"Who's that?"
Before Dr.Lihan could answer the wife of the man said
"I hope you are not placing the life of my grandson in jeopardy."
"Mr and Mrs Knight if you could calm down and listen to my reasons it would help."
"What reasons so you speak of and where's Dr.Devon?"
Mrs. Knight fired at him.
"Dr.Devon won't be able to make it in time and if the surgery wasn't performed quickly the chances of it being successful was less than thirty percent and the chances of your son don waking up would have been rated to zero."
He looked at both their faces. Mrs. Knight swayed a little but was supported by her husband.

Seven hours later,
Celestina stepped out of the theatre.
"How was the surgery?"
She pulled down her mask.
"It was successful."
Penelope Zoe also known as Mrs.Knight stared back at her husband.
"Mr and Mrs...."
"Knight."
She nodded at them but chose to ignore the woman's look.
"Actually it went well but he needs to get a blood transfusion but there's none in the hospital at the moment so..."
"Mr. Devon."
Celestina didn't like him but she had to respect him plus you could literally see the arrogance between his brows.
"Come let's prepare for the surgery."
Most nurses stared at him in mockery
"Why,what's going on?"
"Dr. Devon the surgery is already over and it was successful."
Although the couple didn't know what was going on they watched at the sidelines.
"What do you mean by it was successful and who performed the surgery?"
"She did."
Dr. Lihan pointed out.
"Dr. Lihan you've got to be kidding she but just an intern."
"At least I performed the surgery successfully when you weren't even forty percent sure you would be successful."
"What did you say?"
She ignored him and turned to Mr and Mrs. Knight
"Your child has been moved to another room and he might wake up in the next twelve hours."
They both looked grateful but her next words shattered the joy on their faces.
" but if he can make it in the next five hours will be another thing."
When she saw their dim mood she felt the need to comfort them.
"He's a strong kid he'll make it out to alive."
She nodded at them and left to change out of her surgical clothes and went back to look after the kid.

Zoe Knight looked through the opening of the the door and stared at the doctor take care of her grandchild.
She didn't know whether to be angry that the girl bore and uncanny resemblance to her husband. As she entered the room she cleared her throat.
Celestina turned to look at her
"Mrs. Knight."
She didn't know why but she felt the stare from the older woman was weird.
"How's his condition now?"
"Well his vitals test was good and all the other test came out positive so he should be able to wake up in the next two hours after all ten hours have already passed and he seems to be doing quite well."
Zoe looked at the young lady in the white coat.
"Thank you."
"It's alright it was my duty."
Celestina smiled at Zoe. Zoe then noticed the exhaustion between her brows.
"Aren't you tired."
Celestina felt flatterer by the question. She tried to remember when someone last cared about her health.
"Don't worry I'll get some rest once I'm done."
Zoe smiled at her, it seems when the truth came out she's gonna like this girl.

"Water."
A low raspy voice sounded out. Celsetina opened her eyes and saw the kid was awake. She poured him a glass of water and helped him drink it.
The boy looked at her as she placed the glass down.
" Hey kiddo."
She didn't mind that he ignored her as she checked his vitals to make sure he was ok.
"How you feeling?"
He nodded his head but flinched a little from the pain.
"Don't do that you're gonna get headache if you do that."
She positioned his head well on the pillow.
"My name is Alberto."
"We'll Alberto I'm Celestina but you can call me Celeste."
She smiled at him.
And that's how their relationship began.

"Let's hurry."
The couple immediately rushed to the hospital upon finding out their grandson was awake.
As they were opening the door they were shocked by the sound of Alberto's giggles because after the death of their daughter in law and son it was as if he had withdrawn into a shell.
Zoe's eyes turned teary as joy filled her.
She had a feeling that Celestina was gonna change the atmosphere in their family but in a good way.
"Alberto."
Zoe said as she along with her husband Dimitri entered. She rushed in and held his hand wishing she could pull him into a bone crushing hug as tears spilled from her eyes.
"So how's he now."
"If he's to nurse himself back to health he'll be no different from a normal kid in no time."
She looked at the family and smiled.
"Alright I think my work here is done so I'll take my leave."
"No,don't leave you promised you wouldn't."
Alberto said as he burst into tears. She didn't know the reason why but she felt close to the child.
"Doctor why don't we go out and talk about it."
Zoe said as she led her out of the ward.
"I'm Penelope Zoe Knight but you can call me Zoe."
" I'm Celestina Fayre Costa but Celeste will do."
They both shook hands.
"Can I ask you for a favor?"
"As long as it is within my scope I'll help you."
"Can you stay...….."
"Mrs Knight"
"Zoe"
Zoe it her off.
"Right Zoe I wish I could stay but you see I'm here just to gain experience and I'll have to go back to receive my degree."
"What about after that will you be able to come back?"
"I'm married."
Tears filled Zoe's eyes.
"Can I call you aunt Zoe?"
"Yeah sure."
She smiled at Celeste.
"Im sure he'll soon forget me after seeing his parents."
I noticed pain flash through her eyes.
"Is everything alright?"
I asked as she tried to blink her tears away.
"His parents, they're gone."
"And ever since they died he cocooned himself into a shell and for the first time since they passed away I saw him act like a kid."
She held Celeste's hand in hers.
"I know I'm being selfish if I ask you to dump your whole life for him so I won't but I would like it if you could keep in touch with us."m
I saw hope fill her eyes and I couldn't bring myself to say no so I agreed.

"Alberto."
I said as I walked back into the ward with Aunt Zoe.
"Grandma is she gonna leave?"
Alberto turned to Aunt Zoe then she to me.
I walked over to him and crunched to his height l.
"Al I wished I could stay here forever."
"But you can y...…"
"I also don't want to go but I have to but I do promise to keep in touch with you and you can also come and visit me ok."
He turned his head away. I don't how but I feel so close to this family and I don't know why but I feel I resemble Mr Knight but as that thought flashed through my head I shook it off.
"Promise?"
"Promise."

"Bye Alberto, Mr and Mrs Knight."
I had overstayed my stay than I was supposed to and it was time for me to go back. But a lot has changed.
"Remember to ring us once you land."
"Sure thing."
I noticed the sad look on our Alberto's face as well as Mr. Knight who had a weird look on his face.
"Al I promise to visit you soon and you can too."
I hugged him tightly trying to reminisce this last moments.
I nodded at time and turned to take heavy steps towards my plane. Everyone went back last month, the Knights were able to use the influence to help me stay but I know it's time for me to go.
For the first time I felt what real family love is now. And I now know that the Davis never treated me like family.
I took my seats in the plane and pulled the rubber from my Jean pockets it had three strands of Mr. Knights here. Soon I will know the truth.
"Miss"
I turned to the air hostess.
"Please buckle your seat belt the plane is about to take off."
I nodded and did just that

"Please buckle up the plane will be landing in fifteen minutes."
I couldn't wait till the plane landed.
Zavid messaged me that he would send a driver to come get me from the airport. I looked through the window as the plane landed. It's good to be back, I thought as l smirked to myself.
