Chapter 1 - CHAPTER ONE

I stare at myself gazing at the exquisite doll I'm been made into. The white gown, the tiara, the white shawl all looked glaring to my eyes.

I stared at my green eyes that had lost its shine not that anyone cared. Not that they ever have cared about me. For as long as l could remember l was always on my own even though I had a family that's if I could call them that.

"Darling don't you look ravishing" my mom no Mrs. Davis walked in. She gave birth to me but I never knew why she hated me.

"Mom can I not get married?" I asked softly.

"PAAAAAAAH" My face turned to the other side. The makeup artist all lowered their heads.

"Say that again" She stared menacingly at me as though I was her enemy. Tears threatened to fall but I wouldn't let it.

"This is the only way" Her eyes reddened as she looked at me as though she was staring at someone else.

"I never asked to be born" I whispered but she heard me.

"Neither did I want to but guess not every wish is answered" She said back but I felt she was talking to herself.

"Make sure she looks as pretty as a flower"

"Don't allow her to run away" She lastly ordered the security guards then she left without turning back.

The makeup artist got back to doing whatever they had to and l sat there expressionless. I couldn't keep hollowing in pity.

If today was a happy day I wouldn't mind but it's not and it's all too much.

"Are you done?" My step dad walked in and stared at me expressionless, his eyes stone cold that I shivered. Marcus Davis, I know he hates me and his love are only meant for his kids but it still hurts.

"Almost Mr. Davis" the beautician answered professionally. I looked at him and saw disgust flash through his eyes and I lowered mine. I used to ask why but now I'm no longer interested hopefully my marriage works.

"Put on a smile and stop acting like we're going to sell you" I smiled mockingly in response.

"Aren't you ?" I said back.

I noticed his vein on the forehead throbbing.

" You can't hit me after all you have to keep up appearances" I smirked and he angrily walked out.

" Are you alright?" The makeup artist asked me and I nodded. Then she continued her work.

I noticed my phone ring and when I saw the name I felt my chest contract. I know I should but I still do.

Someone snatched the phone from my hand.

"I hope you're not still thinking about him" my mom stared at me

"If I ever find out you still contact him I kill him" she stated.

" I won't I'm not like you who doesn't respect a holy union like marriage"

"CELESTINA !" She shouted with her hand raised. I got up and stared at her mockingly.

"Isn't it true if it wasn't then I wouldn't exist"

"You you you" She kept pointing at me as she burned with anger.

"Mom" my little sister walked in and stared at me in disgust.

" It's time" I shut my eyes in pain

She nodded and walked out.

"Everyone leave us." My sister ordered. Then they all walked out.

"Sister how does it feel to be sold everyone hating you and I'm sure he'll also hate you, wanna bet? "

I just stared at her.

"Argh how annoying" she left the room and I collapsed in my chair.

I held Marcus' hand as he walked me down the aisle with a thousand years playing at the background. He smiled happily like he could see his investment.

I put on a fake smile and we both acted together. I stared at the groom I was walking toward and I felt he was my doom.

"Take good care of my daughter" he said and handed me over to him. I stared at his cold gray eyes and felt as though I was sinking into a bottomless abyss.

"Dear people we are gathered here today to join these two people here together....." I tuned out.

Brought back from my revere.

"Do you Celestina Fayre Davis take Zavid-Maxim Costa to be your lawfully wedded husband in sickness and in health, light and darkness, for poor or rich and share in everything till death do you part?" I looked into those dark piles that threatened to swallow me.

"I do" I placed the ring on his finger.

"Do you Zavid-Maxim take Celestina Fayre Davis to be your lawfully wedded wife in ...…"

"I do" He cut the priest off and roughly placed the ring on my finger.

"Anyone who has an objection against this union should speak or forever hold their peace" The hall remained quiet.

"Then by the power vested in me I hereby pronounce you husband and wife you may kiss the bride" He raised my veil and lightly kissed me.

My freedom gone in the blink of an eye. The whole crowd cheered and applauded. I turned to look at the faces of my family and saw that they just looked relieved that the wedding went without a hitch.I laughed coldly in my heart.

************************ **************************

There was classical music playing. Everyone was happy about the reception except the two people involved, the bride and groom but all failed to notice it.

There were different kinds of alcohol, wine, soft drinks, champagne and from a food buffet of different dishes to deserts.

"Ok, let us welcome the bride and her father to give us the opening dance" Celestina and her stepdad walked toward the dance floor and danced.

"Thank you" Her stepdad said when they finished dancing leaving her confused.

"Now let's welcome the main characters of today Mr and Mrs Costa to the dance floor."

Zavid and Celestina walked together to the dance floor.

She placed her hand around his neck and his around her waist and started to move according to the tune of the music.

Then I'm asked in a cold gone while still dancing with her.

"Why did you marry me?"

"l-l-l"

She could only stammer out feeling nervous why he questioned her.

Angry at her lack of response he held her waist tight enough to cause a bruise and she whimpered in pain but anyone who saw it would think they were romancing on the dance floor.

"Please stop you are hurting me" She spoke softly.

"Oh stop with your innocent act"

"I'm not acting please it really hurts"

"Be prepared because this is just a tip of the berg of what you are gonna experience everyday"

The music stopped and the crowd cheered and applauded. Zavid held her as they walked together with her hand round her waist to their seats with her thinking how she walked to hell after leaving the lion's den.
