"Hey," Valentino said, then turned back into his office and Alice followed suit. They walked into the room, Alice sat on his office couch and scanned the room around with her eyes cause the first time she was there, she didn't get the opportunity to look around the room.
"Nice office yeah," Alice said While still looking around the office. Something cut her attention so she stood and went over to where the thing was, just as she was about to lay a hand on it, Valentino held her hand with immediate effect. She looked surprised that Valentino wouldn't allow her to touch the molded customized cup.
"Don't touch anything in my office. Let's go" He blurted and went on his way out of the office with the wish that she would leave his office"I guess it was a bad idea to let her in in the first place, "He thought to himself as he left. Alice had no other option than to heed his words.
Alice came downstairs only to meet a dozen maids, lined up and all bowing to her in greeting. She has experienced stuff like this but she just could not remember the last time.
"I decided on a dress for you already and hired them to help you get ready, so just go with them and get yourself prepared to leave" He had said to Alice before turning over to the maids."Now you know your work, so get to it." Valentino had ordered and two went over to cross hands with Alice and lead her upstairs while others pursued them closely. They had entered a room decorated with lime curtains and a larger king-size bed placed in the epicenter of the room filled with warm lights. Alice's lips had formed a"Wow" The room was incredibly beautiful she must say. She was asked to take a warm shower which had already been prepared beforehand right in the bathtub. A few minutes passed and she was already wrapped in a towel and seated in the front of a mirror.
She stared at herself in the mirror and kept on admiring her beauty until she was shocked by the sudden eruption of a bright light just centered at where she sat which caused her an immediate eye pang and a little painful scream that came out of her lips.
The maids had noticed what happened "Am so sorry miss I didn't know you weren't ready am so sorry please forgive me" The head maid pleaded so passionately with fear written all over her. The room was silenced and not even a sound was heard.
Alice was not yet done with nursing her pain so she didn't utter a word. She sat still for some time before she could respond to the apology the maid was rendering."It's fine, don't worry, you can continue with your work" She assured them, and only then could everyone get back to what they were doing.
Time passed. The makeup on Alice was beautifully made, her hair was first curled and packed up into a messy pond on top of her head which looked so good on her as well. She wore a dress decorated with black shining stone beads all over it, the dress brought out her curves and silhouettes so firmly. Her heels were carefully selected to match with the dress and finally, they did find one. Her purse was in matching colors with her heels. Alice was looking so gorgeous and sexy that she had to stare at herself more in the mirror like she didn't know this beautiful girl standing right in front of the mirror.
Everything was set on Alice's side and the same goes for Valentino. He wore a plain white suit and changed his hairstyle looking more like a British handsome guy. He was done with himself minutes ago he only had to wait for the lady you know all in the name of "Ladies stuff".
Alice was escorted down the stairs where Valentino was seated while he waited for her. Valentino was on his phone but he first noticed the sudden quietness in the room so he looked up only to the alarm faces of his servants, they all looked so zoned out while staring at something behind him so he had to see for himself. He turned over to see what was going on only to find a beautiful angel approaching him with the sweetest smile he had ever seen. Words couldn't describe how beautiful Alice looked, he kept his gaze on her for some time and finally gathered himself together so as not to look like he was grooving over her.
"Are you ready to go?"He asked as soon as he stood to his feet, straightened his suit, and glimpsed only at Alice's face to get a retort.
"Yes, I can't be ready enough so let's go" Alice gave a big fake smile. Throughout this process, Alice had tried so much not to think of her mom and the condition she might be in currently but despite that, she only had to remember her once on every step she made. Her smile had captured most of the servants and triggered them to laughter without them knowing how fake the smile was.
Valentino went closer to where she stood, offered his arms out to Alice and she took them, then he led her outside the house where the prepared white limousine was packed. A security guy was there already so he helped open the door for Alice to step in and ran over to the other door to offer the same service to Valentino. They sat still in the car without saying a word to each other. The least Valentino could do was to check the time and it was already 3:25 pm while they were supposed to be present before 3:40 pm. Valentino knew immediately that they were already late for the party because it was a one-hour journey from his house to the venue that was sent to him. Nevertheless, he didn't have anything to do about it.
"It seems we are late to our engagement party," Alice spoke up to Valentino cause she kind of noticed how constant he was at checking his wristwatch.
"Yeah, and my mom will be freaking out already," Valentino answered coldly. Alice didn't have anything to add to that so she kept mute.
They drove for almost an hour and all through the ride Valentino's phone was bummed with calls from different sets of people wanting to know where they were. Getting to the venue it was already 4:10 pm and the place was a bit crowded with tons of rich populace. Their car got to the entrance of the building and stopped for them to move out of the car. Valentino got down and went over to the other side to gently escort Alice out of the car and proceed into the building.
Mrs. Annabelle's joy knew no bounds as soon as she sighted them coming into the hall. She hurriedly went over to them and engaged herself in a tight hug with Alice" Am so glad you guys made it, You are just in time cause people were already coming to ask me questions and you look so gorgeous my dear." She complimented Alice before dragging her away from Valentino to go greet her friends.
A tap came from Valentino's back and he turned only to face his father with a big smile on his face" Congratulations son".
