Chereads / Immortal Throne / Chapter 17 - Rebuilding the Hatchery Factory

Chapter 17 - Rebuilding the Hatchery Factory

David stood in the center of the village square in silence. After successfully quelling the Goblin tribe, his reputation in the village had reached its peak, and no one dared to question him anymore.

The village's warriors had witnessed firsthand the terrifying power he displayed in battle, and even Alec and his sister held him in high reverence.

As the day of the sacrifice drew nearer, David had made a decision deep within himself. He would modify the village's tradition of offering the Saintess sacrifice and instead offer up the leaders of the rebellion, such as Mark and William.

"Master, the time is ripe. We should begin the process of rebuilding the hatchery factory to cultivate a body exclusively for you," Lynn cautiously suggested to David.

David eagerly anticipated this moment. He longed for a body that truly belonged to him, which would allow him to venture into the vast and boundless world outside.

Lynn also placed high hopes on him. Despite her near omnipotence within the confines of the Sunlit Ruins, there were still many things that required going beyond. Countless treasures within the ruins had been plundered by a constant stream of adventurers. If not for the three Guardians, the Little Sun, and the Immortal Throne, which were immovable artifacts, the ruins would have been emptied long ago.

Even someone as powerful as Lynn could not defy the ravages of time or face tens of thousands of top-tier experts single-handedly. She could only watch helplessly as the treasures of the ruins disappeared one by one, beyond her reach.

Therefore, recovering lost treasures and restoring the glory of the ruins had become David's mission.

"What is the process for creating the hatchery factory?" David inquired curiously.

"I have all the relevant technical data stored in my memory, and the necessary raw materials can be extracted from the environment," Lynn explained.

"Hiring ordinary people to construct it will suffice; they only need to follow my instructions," Lynn added.

"But ordinary people wouldn't understand these advanced technologies," David expressed his doubt.

"Given the technological level of this village, building something as high-tech as a hatchery factory is still a long way off... even in Earth's 21st century, concepts like cloning and consciousness transfer seemed like science fiction!" David's worry grew as he spoke.

"It's alright; a few ordinary people will be enough. As long as they agree, I can split off numerous sub-consciousnesses and inhabit their bodies. I will act directly through them," Lynn assured.

"Ah, you can do that?" David asked in amazement.

"My main self is a vast server terminal. I can create numerous sub-consciousnesses for control and maintain consciousness contact and cooperation within a certain range," Lynn explained.

"But if they are too far away, these sub-consciousnesses will become independent entities and lose contact with my main self. Only when they return to the main self can their memories and experiences be integrated," Lynn added.

"In Earth's 21st-century timeline, I inhabited your mind through a blank sub-consciousness," Lynn continued, "At that time, I couldn't reveal much to you because it was a sub-consciousness with basic commands."

"I see..." David suddenly understood, and this explained many of his previous confusions.

"So, how strong is your split-self?" he continued to inquire.

"I can retain combat experience and a certain degree of power, but my specific combat abilities depend on the body I inhabit," Lynn explained.

"I cannot surpass the physical limits of the body itself. If I inhabit a powerful body, my combat abilities will be formidable; otherwise, they will be weak."

"Bern!" David called his most trusted assistant.

He whispered instructions to Bern, asking him to spread the word and recruit volunteers to gather in the square with the promise of generous rewards.

Word quickly spread, and the young people of the village rushed to the square, eager to participate. Despite David's age restrictions, many children and elderly villagers also mixed in the crowd, fearing they might miss an opportunity.

"The great true heir is about to descend upon this age! Before we conduct the ritual of the Three Gods, we must prepare for the arrival of the true heir!" Bernard exclaimed loudly to the crowd.

"True heir?" murmured the crowd, many with perplexed expressions.

"What is the true heir? Our holy scriptures don't mention this..." muttered an elderly man.

Even the village chief, who had inherited the beliefs and traditions for generations, felt puzzled by this unfamiliar title.

David chuckled inwardly; he had fabricated this title on the spot. As someone who had been reborn, he needed a reasonable identity for himself.

Calling himself the True King Incarnate directly would be too hasty; he needed a title that sounded mysterious and noble.

"What orders do you have, sir? We will do our utmost to fulfill them!" a middle-aged man stepped forward with determination.

"That's right, we were originally servants of the true king, and we will gladly give our lives!" another person chimed in.

To David's surprise, this group of people was extremely proactive, and he didn't need to provide much explanation; they volunteered automatically.

Their devotion to the village's Goddess was so profound that they would not hesitate to sacrifice their lives if required.

However, David decided to explain the situation and rules to them:

"I need about 30 young and strong individuals. Our task this time is to build an altar to summon the True Heir. However, due to your limited mortal knowledge, I will first use my divine power to put you all into a deep sleep..."

As David spoke, he calculated that these loyal individuals would save him a lot of trouble.

"This means that once you agree to participate, I will induce a deep sleep in you."

"Throughout the construction of the altar, you will remain in this sleep, only waking up in the village after the project is completed."

"During this time, you will have no memories," David explained.

Upon hearing this, the crowd immediately began discussing.

"So, you're saying all I have to do is sleep, and the Goddess will help me improve and grow?"

"Is this really happening?" someone finally realized.

The opportunity to gain strength without effort instantly excited the entire crowd, and everyone eagerly volunteered.

In a world where power determined everything, who wouldn't want to gain formidable abilities and dominate the world? If it weren't for the limitations, no one would give up this opportunity.

"I want to participate!"

"Pick me, pick me!" the crowd responded enthusiastically.

Soon, the hypnotic ritual officially began, and people lined up in an orderly fashion.

Each person, when their turn came, would walk up to the Goddess, Lynn, gaze into her eyes, and loudly declare, "I agree!"

This was the process of confirming their participation agreement.

When they uttered those words, a radiant light would flash in Lynn's beautiful eyes, transferring their consciousness, and taking control of their bodies, plunging them into a deep slumber.

Buzz!

Buzz!

With each gaze, the person would relax, losing their vitality, and their eyes would turn into a brilliant rose-red, just like the Goddess.

"That's enough, no need to wait in line anymore."

The solemn ceremony quickly concluded, and in the end, thirty strong men stood behind David.

Their expressions were gone, as if their souls had been stripped from their bodies, silently standing there, like ethereal spirits.

"Alec, Agnes, I entrust the protection of the village to both of you," David said as he departed.

After all, he had taken away thirty able-bodied men in one go, which placed a heavy burden on the village's combat strength.

"Of course!" Alec and Agnes respectfully agreed, well aware that their lives were bestowed by David.

In front of the Goblin King, they might appear weak, but the two of them were true Enlightenments.

With their presence, the village could at least enjoy safety and peace.

With the warm send-off from the villagers, David, accompanied by the thirty laborers, embarked on the path leading back to the ruins.

Although the Lost Forest was fraught with danger, the mere release of Lynn's presence would send beasts several miles away trembling in fear.

In the days that followed, David assumed the role of a site supervisor. Only with his presence could he suppress the dangerous creatures lurking within the Lost Forest.

Lynn's work efficiency was remarkable. The thirty laborers sometimes worked individually and at other times collaborated, all while engaged in significant data calculations.

Boom!

Suddenly, a deafening sound shattered the peaceful work scene!

At times, David had to personally intervene, blasting open caves and retrieving rare ores hidden deep within. In this era devoid of electricity, magic stones served as supercharged batteries, even more efficient than modern electricity when activated by magic.

"The forge is complete!"

"The basic pipelines are done!"

"The nutrient circulation system is ready!"

Amidst these shouts, work progressed fervently, proceeding with well-ordered precision.

...

Every day, David received the latest construction updates. In just one week, they had transformed from having nothing to this exquisite small-scale hatchery!

This magnificent achievement was thanks to the scientific breaks taken by the thirty laborers, their impeccable teamwork, and a steady supply of spirit herbs.

Lynn existed in the minds of each person, acting as their personal secretary, customizing training plans for everyone. Even during brief breaks, she tirelessly worked to help them enhance their abilities.

Nearly every member of the team experienced varying degrees of improvement, becoming healthier and more powerful!

"Complete the assembly of the cultivation chambers and commence system debugging!"

"Simulate sample loading for aseptic and stability tests!"

"Finish the final system check to ensure safety!"

On the eighth day, the small-scale hatchery constructed within the ruins had successfully passed its final test. With the infusion of materials and energy, it was ready for official use!

"Will I be born here?"

Pushing open the heavy metal door, David's first sight was the transparent control room, with neatly arranged screens and consoles adorned with blinking lights.

Surprisingly, these devices required no manual operation; their systems were directly linked to Lynn's mind. Her thoughts served as commands, and all operating parameters were controlled directly in her mind.

The cultivation area exuded a futuristic ambiance. Four glass cultivation chambers were arranged in rows, with embryos immersed in nutrient solutions. The lights on the screens monitored their vital signs, while white pipes crisscrossed the ceiling like a maze.

"Master, you can now choose to be born," Lynn said to David.

"Ah, right now? This feels so unreal," David suddenly felt excited, almost unable to believe everything.

"Yes, I have adjusted your soul parameters," Lynn replied.

"You also need to allocate your attribute points, which will determine your future development direction. Based on your choices, I will decide which materials to fuse and which human genes to use to construct your body."

"Can it really be customized like this?" David felt astonished, realizing that even one's physical attributes could be tailored.

"Yes, reviving you was my sole mission. During the tens of thousands of years of waiting, I collected the bloodline genes of the top experts who ventured into this place."

"Among them were swordsmasters without equal, magicians who dominated their era, and berserkers with peerless physical prowess..."

"In addition to these, we can extract factors from dragon bones to make your bones naturally strong. Adding phoenix blood to your bloodline can enhance healing..."

As Lynn explained, David finally approached the screen control panel, which displayed an attribute point allocation interface, reminiscent of character creation in a game.

Of course, this was a simulation of the outcome, just to provide a clear understanding of various advantages. The actual process would be far more complex.

"Strength - 92."

"Agility - 98."

"Endurance - 91."

"Spirit - 90."

"Constitution - 100."

"Resilience - 99."

"Physical Resistance - 100."

"Magic Resistance - 97."

"Spirit Root - Chaotic Spirit Root."

"Intelligence - Supreme Intelligence."

David only set the basic allocation ratios and began relying on luck for the rest.

After thousands of random attempts, ensuring the attainment of maximum values for various attributes, he finally pressed the "Start" button with excitement!

The massive metal plates slid open slowly, accompanied by a deep mechanical hum, resembling the mouth of a colossal beast revealing its interior.

Lights flickered inside the chamber, reflecting virtual projections on the control panel. Delicate currents flowed through transparent conduits, resembling blood circulating through veins.

Machine arms within the chamber moved rapidly, handling glass containers with care. Each movement resembled a precise dance, without the slightest hesitation.

Transparent sacs accumulated pressure above the containers, gently caressing the specimens.

The temperature, humidity, and lighting within the cultivation chamber were all meticulously controlled, as if a silent conductor were orchestrating it all.

"Wow, it's finally starting!" David's heart raced with anticipation.

"With all these materials and the fusion of countless experts' genes from various eras, what will I become?" he felt an intense curiosity.

Inside the cultivation chamber, within the enormous transparent container, liquid flowed slowly, like liquid cosmos.

"Usually, for someone to embark on the path of cultivation, they only need one attribute to stand out, reaching a score of 60. After training, they can become an Initiation," Lynn's voice echoed.

David nodded, realizing how exceptional his attributes, mostly scoring above 90, were.

"And if one attribute scores above 80, they are already considered a genius in a particular field. Few can maintain multiple high attributes at the same time," Lynn continued to explain, filled with reverence.

David took a deep breath, realizing that he was on an uncharted path. Regardless of the outcome, he would become a one-of-a-kind existence, a life form fused with the essence of many experts.

"So, can anyone create a perfect body using this machine?" David suddenly raised a question, eager to know.

"No, regardless of material rarity and technological difficulty, only you, as the reincarnation of the True King, have the qualification to harness this level of body and unleash its full potential. With anyone else, the capabilities would be greatly diminished."

"Hmm," David pondered for a moment and then smirked, "Well, I was planning to mass-produce a bunch of cultivation prodigies, but it seems that won't work."
