The soft hum of excited whispers filled the air and curious gazes turned towards the car. The window rolled down, revealing Wyatt sitting in the back his expression as cold as ice.
"Get in," he commanded, his tone devoid of warmth. Kilin's heart skipped a beat her desire to defy him very strong. She remained rooted on the spot her desire to rebel at its pique.
"Are you going to break your promise?" he retorted, his voice filled with warning. With an annoyed sigh, she bit her lip, contemplating her next move. She had planned to go alone and deliver the medicine to him tomorrow so in actual fact she wasn't technically breaking her promise.
Wyatt's gaze remained fixed on her, his eyes holding a hint of impatience. Kilin's resolve wavered, her frustration mingling with a flicker of vulnerability. She knew she wanted to get this over and done with.
