The concept of calibration.
Calibration was a basic skill, one that would foster a person's relationship with a woman.
And that was one skill that Dickens needed right now.
Calibration basically revolved around developing one's social skills.
This meant that one had to understand the behaviour of the other person whom they were talking to, pick up certain cues and respond to them accordingly and at the right moment.
Not too fast to appear creepy and not too slow to kill the vibe.
Calibration meant one could truly understand the mindset of the persons and respond to them in a manner that is liked by them.
It was a straightforward and simple-sounding concept but to execute it properly was difficult.
