"Who said I did not want to see you? What nonsense are you sprouting?" Lixin's brows arched in turmoil, facing Mingxia's sad look. He wanted to lash out at her for her wishful assumptions but withheld his actions. They both had enough for one day, so he decided not to stress it; on the other hand, he needed to clarify things with her. "You will live with me in one of my penthouses here in Wuhan. Bai Yuming would still take care of you. I am not abandoning you, although my mom's last wish is completed."
"You sure?" Mingxia's mood lightened a little bit while she exhaled happily. All this while she was overthinking too much. Maybe she honestly doubted him. That reminded her; she still needed to know why he was angry. "Did I do something wrong to you last night? Are you upset about my behavior? I…"
"It is a pity that I found you near your ex's company. If I had known you ran off to be with him, I would not have searched for you." Lixin sarcastically opened up. He meant every word he said. "You have to choose either him or me. Which one?" Mingxia gasped, struck with awe, at his impulsive questionnaire. She did not know how to answer him, so she remained quiet. He assumed Mingxia dared not make her choice next to him and, therefore, drove off in a rage. "I won't be back until nighttime. Do not stay awake."
Lixin said while pulling over at the new penthouse under his name. He dropped her off with Bai Yuming and took off on the road again. Mingxia let out a deafening sigh, slumping in the chair. Her toes ached, so she kicked the heels off and walked barefoot. Her mind was a mess; every part of her was messy, all because of Mu Lixin! What had he done to her? Did he cast a spell on her? Just then, when he asked her to choose between the two of them, Mingxia showed no reluctance to choose Lixin; she had hitherto prevented herself from making a rash decision. What if he was nothing like she imagined? What if one day he leaves her like Huang Yichen said? Would she still prefer him to Luo Yuxuan?
Of course, Yes! It was better than going back to those traitors she once trusted!
"Where are you coming from?" Yuming popped in front of Mingxia, flinging questions here and there. She was astonished to spot Mingxia and Lixin in the same car, and to top it off, they wore matching outfits. "Did you two go on a date?" She pestered her more until Mingxia gave in to her questions and began to answer them.
"He invited me to Xiao Yang's birthday party," Mingxia spoke, gulping a glass of water down her throat. She felt extremely thirsty and out of breath after she came down from his car. "Your expression is horrified; any problem?" She had no problem noticing the quick change in Yuming's reaction.
"You met the dreadful young master Mu? We have to give thanks that you came out alive!" Though Yuming added a bit of exaggeration to her words, it was the honest, bitter truth. Rumors had it that Mu Luyang was the most arrogant and hard-to-please child of the Mu, apart from Mu Lixin. His temper was far worse than Lixins; furthermore, he got deadly when he threw a tantrum. Not many babysitters survived his wicked nature. Some even became mentally ill after two days of staying with him. After that, Mu Jialing locked up Luyang and gave him therapy sessions to improve his EQ.
Despite it all, Mingxia seemed happy that she met Mu Luyang! Was she possessed or crazy?
"He was not that bad! He is cute."
Thud!
Her statement was like a slap on Yuming's joyful face. Yuming found it difficult to trust what Mingxia had declared; therefore, she ignored what she was saying and went to the kitchen to warm up some food for them both. Yuming was so busy helping Lixin move some new furniture into the penthouse that she forgot her meal time. She naturally had a growling stomach whenever she missed her daily meals.
"I still would not believe that," Yuming uttered firmly. She set the microwave heater to ten minutes and, once done, dished out the food for Mingxia. "Eat up. The boss asked me to take you shopping. He said he needed new clothes to be stacked up for future events where you would have to represent him."
"What do you mean by representing him?" Her brows arched in confusion. She swallowed her milk tea and munched on the cinnamon bread. "Sure, as long as he pays." Mingxia laughed in her head, stood up, and left to get changed into something more comfortable and casual. Once done, She entered the Lamborghini parked next to the entrance and drove off.

A birthday party suddenly turned into a theme for mockery as Mu Zaizai was officially blacklisted by the Mu's. These news stories kept the netizens talking, and some even dared to comment on them and spread them like wildfire. Before midday, the news got ninety percent of the people talking, each having their own opinion to share. In a mansion stayed the main celebrant of that news, Mu Zaizai, crying and then angrily cursing them.
"If you had listened to me from the start, you would not have ended up as an eyesore in people's eyes. How would you be able to walk past them without being gossiped at?" A woman in her thirties spoke elegantly, crossing one leg on top of the other and sipping her coffee. That woman went by the name of Tang Song Yun, Mu Zaizai's older cousin. "You caused it upon yourself." Zaizai bitterly wept at Yun's statement. If only she was given a head start, she would not be so unwise to drag Mu Lixin out in public. What ached her the most was when Mu Jialing stepped in. Did he have to be so ruthless toward her?
She sobbed loudly, kicking her legs into the air and her fist into a firm ball. Her teeth gritted in anger. Mu Zaizai's only last option after her family blacklisted her was to turn for help to her cousin, Tang Songyun!
"At least your family treats you well! Your husband is so kind." Zaizai verbalized reminiscing about her ex-husband, who had dumped her, made a mockery of her, and left her in the lurch to run after his true love. Life was too cruel for her. This was karma paying her back tenfold for her mother's bad deed. Months after she was born, Zaizai learned that her mother forced Jialing's first wife to death, and she committed suicide along with her, terrified to bear the consequences. Ever since then, Jialing has always carried resentment towards her in his heart. "I wish my mother hadn't disgraced me! I hate her!"
Songyun listened attentively to the cries of her friend and cousin. She also knew how badly Uncle Jialing had treated Mu Zaizai in the past and felt somewhat happy. Why should she not? Was Zaizai, not the person who boasted to her every day about Jialing's riches and kindness towards her? The birthday party was honestly a show she wished to watch live and direct. As she was not able to do so, Songyun ensured that the trending news about the party stayed. Zaizai needed to be taught a lesson.
"Your mother did nothing. Uncle Jialing did! He is a traitor. I will help you have your befitting laugh in the end." Songyun gave her false hope, which lightened Mu Zaizai's mood. Her crying façade was replaced by a sinister smile. Meanwhile, in the heart of Songyun, she sneered and chuckled at Zaizai's naivety. Help her? Impossible! Rather, Tang Songyun schemed more ways to get even with the Mu's and Zaizai too. It was killing two birds with one stone. Pretty great, right?
Only then did Zaizai assume Songyun was on her side? She imagined the whole Tang Empire being on her side, so she felt pleased about this. Knowing Songyun was her last hope, Zaizai made sure she played her last card, and triumphantly, she won. Alas, Zaizai was only a stepping stone in the Tang's future evil schemes for the Mu.

In the Crystal Mall.
One of the biggest brands in the fashion industry owned by her role model, an American, Katy was finally opening her styles to China, and most of all, its headquarters were built right in Wuhan! Mingxia could not hide her joy any longer and picked the most expensive gowns they had. She even booked more for the future. Katy's quality of clothes was something never to be questioned; she had the best fashion designer in the States and had worked with many more clothing brands and creators like Angela. They were the best!
As she was about to pay for the clothes, she stumbled near someone she never imagined she would see: Xu Mengyao, another second traitor of hers, and also look was none other than her best pal, He Lihua, who ditched her when she was needed the most. Mingxia sneered, gritting her teeth. It seems like they were here to cause trouble for her. They stopped at the counter once they noticed Mingxia was there and decided to play a little bit.
"Are you not supposed to be dead? Your father told us you died of cancer two years ago, or has your spirit finally come to haunt us?" Mengyao jeered, pulling off a sassy attitude. She sensed there was no need to be fake from the start since she was the main reason why Luo Yuxuan broke up with her. "Aiyoo, she is even mute!" Mingxia ignored her comment and focused on the attendant who was billing her clothes.
"Expensive wears?" He Lihua chipped in jealously, stepping in front of Mingxia and unpacking what she had bought from Katy Super Wears. The receptionist could not complain, so she only sat and watched. "Let me guess Luo Yuxuan's pockets were not generous to you; therefore, you clutched to another rich man's thighs? I should have known that is who you truly are; now I wonder why Yuxuan chose Mengyao over you! Tell me! Who are these new perverts' thighs you climbed onto?"
