"I will take this mission, Chief." Elizabeth spoke after a few hours. She had made up her mind, since there was no use waiting for a clue to pop out of the blue, it was better to go for it.
"Elizabeth, you don't know about th-"
"Chief, I really want to do this." She muttered, slowly lifting her eyes to meet his, "You won't try to stop me, would you?"
Chief Vans sighed, massaging his temple, "I won't. Just…be careful out there. I'd arrange everything, you just need to get ready."
"Thank you, Chief. But one more thing, when would the mission end?"
"Probably when the culprits are caught or when everything is back to normal." Chief Vans answered with a shrug.
"Oh, that's enough time." Elizabeth thought out loud and stood up, "I'd be leaving now, Chief. Do take care and please inform Mrs Vans that I'd make it to dinner some other day." She added with a smile.
"I will. Good luck."
