Chapter 1 - Prologue

"Help!!!"

The scream from the rooftop of the school echoed louder and louder. I quickened my pace to get there on time. Because if I was even a little late, maybe one life would be gone again.

On a night like this, was it the ghost that would kill her? Or was it done by a human? I didn't know which answer was right.

The person who screamed for help was one of my friends in the choir club. I didn't know what happened, but I felt a bad premonition that made me come to school at night like this. Besides, I also wanted to make sure that my suspicion all this time was true. I suspected that there was a serial killer who disguised himself and killed his victims randomly.

"Hah … Hah … Almost, I'll be there soon." With a little panting, I reached the door that connected to the rooftop and opened it.

I was very surprised to see the sight in front of me. So the killer was human? My guess was right. There was no ghost that could kill humans.

And the killer was … a woman! Her hair was loose and swayed by the wind. She held a red hairpin that was also stained with blood. The blood dripped to the floor. On her neck there was a tattoo with the word: DEAD.

The killer turned her head towards me. I was shocked when I saw her face.

"So this is all your doing?" I shivered. Either because of the very cold air or because of fear. I also felt my face was very pale now.

Maybe because she saw my pale face, the killer smiled and walked towards me. She stopped right next to me and whispered something.

"If you don't want to be accused of killing her, you better leave from here. Besides, she's already dead anyway. And also … if you want to report me, just report me. We'll see if they will believe you or not. Bye." Her voice was very soft. Usually I was fascinated by her sweet voice. But now, I only felt the cruelty from her soft voice.
