I yawned and smiled as I woke up from my nap. It was night now. Hopefully, I hadn't missed the prayer of thanks at the chapel.
Anis gooed as she too woke up. She turned to her daddy who was asleep in the rocking chair. Saffron's brow was furrowed. He moved back and forth as if he were having a nightmare.
I picked up my baby and rose from the bed.
"Hey, Saf," I whispered softly, approaching the rocking chair. I knelt down beside him, gently brushing my fingers against his hand. "Saffron, wake up."
He didn't respond, his face still contorted in discomfort. I leaned in closer, careful not to jostle Anis too much.
"Saffron," I said a little louder, my voice filled with concern. "It's just a dream. You're safe. Come back to me."
