I smiled as I carried my kitten inside a swaddle wrap, gently cradling him close to my chest. Shi had decided to remain in his human form, perhaps to avoid the constant petting and poking from my cousins' kids.
Yesterday, Azami had tried to pull on his little whiskers. Thankfully, Osamu stepped in just in time to stop his twin from causing any distress.
As I settled onto the couch in the inn's cozy common area, I adjusted Shi in my arms, his warm little body nestled against me. His bright golden eyes blinked up at me, filled with curiosity and wonder as he took in the lively atmosphere around us.
"Looks like you've had quite the day yesterday, huh?" I said softly, stroking Shi's soft hair. "Those little ones can be a handful."
Shi made a small gurgling sound as he nibbled on his new kitty stuffy. I chuckled. "I can't blame you for wanting a break. It's nice to have some quiet time before the chaos starts again."
