While the girls and the babies were out, I took the opportunity to touch up Anis's crib. I put up a little carousel with little wings. The carousel had warding stones too, to keep demons like Cyra at bay. It was a little extra protection for my little girl.
Just as I finished adjusting the last wing, the door creaked open, and Gael walked in, his trademark smirk already plastered on his face.
"Well, well, if it isn't the nursery decorator extraordinaire," he teased, crossing his arms over his chest.
I rolled my eyes at my wife's cousin.
"Gael, don't tease him," my brother-in-law said, joining us. He stared at the crib and smiled. "I'm sure my niece will love it."
I sighed. Hopefully, he was right. "I just want her to feel safe and happy in her space," I replied, smoothing out a wrinkle in the soft blanket I had draped over the crib.
