I got up first thing in the morning and showered. As I walked out of the bathroom of the inn I was staying at, my eyes went to the cell phone. Rohan had lent it to me. Thought I could use it more than he could.
Rose popped into my head, but she might've still been sleeping. Or maybe she was busy helping Ma make bread. It was best not to distract her.
Grabbing the clothes I had prepared for myself from the bed, I quickly got dressed.
I checked the time; it was still early, but it was best to get started now. Not like I could sleep. I decided to give Rose a call later, once her day had started. For now, I had a mission to focus on.
I grabbed my jacket and slipped the experimental new cellphone inside. The weight of the fabric felt familiar and comforting, a reminder of the duty that lay ahead. I made my way downstairs, greeted by the quiet hum of the inn as it slowly woke up.
